  • "Apart from the fact that there was no internet, the house was well equipped and everything was ok."

The property included Wi-Fi, which was very important to us. Once there, it turned out that there was no internet and nothing could be done. The owner should not include wifi in the offer if it does not exist. If I had known that there was no wifi, I would not have rented this house.

  • "Great location."

Quirky layout of cottage, clean and comfortable. Kitchen is small but was ok for the two of us. Wraparound enclosed garden which is safe for your dog. Loved seeing the wild birds every morning. The only downside is the hot water pressure, bit slow. Would definitely return for another stay.

  • "The house was quite quirky- lots of doors, corridors and mirrors, but it was clean, comfortable and well equipped( could do with a potato peeler maybe) The dining area was quite small, ok for the 4 of us, but would be a squash for 6."

Beds were comfy and the garden was pleasant. Issues for us were the main bedroom light and 2 bedside lights didn’t work (the 3rd one did), we had to crawl under the bed in the twin room to plug in the bedside light, we had to put new batteries in the tv remote and even then it was slow to respond and the instruction book and visitors book were hidden away in the seat in the conservatory, which we didn’t find till the last day.

  • "Really lovely stay in Birds Nest Cottage."

The only gripe at all was that TV remote in master bedroom had no batteries so needed to share the ones for the living room remote

  • "Lovely bungalow, everything you need and a great outdoor space."

Kitchen is compact but with so many places to eat you shouldn't need to cook! A few light bulbs out in all rooms probably needs checking. We couldn't find keys to open the lounge door, or the middle bedroom. It would have been nice to open the lounge door. Our stay was very good despite that.

  • "It was a lovely place to stay, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed."

We have recommend it to family and friends if they go to the Lake District. The location was ideal for us and it was only a short walk to the shops, cafes and pubs although the walk back was uphill. We really enjoyed our stay.
