• "The cottage was absolutely beautiful."

  We couldn’t have asked for a better place. It was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The little touches to the cottage too was noticed. We were very grateful for the dog treats left, the water for the dogs, provided poo bags, leads. We really felt at home. It really was the best place I’ve ever stayed in. I really can’t wait to book this place again.

• "West View Cottage was everything we wanted & more."

  The cottage is delightful & Janet the host had thought of every possible need for us & our dog to enjoy our stay . The cottage was very clean & cosy & set in a great location to get to all the places we wanted to visit. Janet was very attentive & easily contactable when needed. There are lots of good walks from the cottage & I would highly recommend West View to anyone especially pet owners.

• "We had such a wonderful stay at Janet’s lovely cottage last week."

  The cottage is well equipped, clean and comfortable with everything you need and is super dog friendly, even remembering the smallest of touches which is most appreciated. Janet was very quick to respond to messages and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. • "A brilliant little cottage to stay for the week."

  A great base for exploring the Lake District and so dog friendly. Astrid loved the treats she was left and the many many new dog walks. Janet is the best host and I can’t fault her, helpful before during and after the holiday looking forward to staying at West View again!

• "I definitely recommend West View."

  Recently refurbished to a high standard, the cottage is very clean and comfortable and well maintained. The host provides an excellent welcome pack and is approachable and easily contacted if needed. Our stay was for 2 weeks for 2 adults (and a dog), with one of us working remotely whilst the other attended a course; the cottage was perfect for our requirements. The garden is very well thought-out, being safe and secure for dogs - we enjoyed evenings watching the sunset from the terrace. The cottage is well placed for dog walks and exploring this area of the Lakes - Ambleside was an easy drive away. I'd recommend the local village shop (a short car drive away), as well as Booths (further away), and Arnside chippy! We hope to return to the area and to West View.

• "We had a wonderful stay here, the quality of the cottage is one of the best we've ever stayed in, couldn't fault it."

  The cottage is perfectly located for trips to the lakes and is equipped with everything you might need for your stay. Janet is a wonderful, thoughtful host who has thought of everything. We massively appreciated all of the little touches throughout the house - it would not be the same without her care and hard work. We will stay here again if we come back up. Thank you!

• "This has to be our favourite cottage that we have stayed in on our many holidays with our 2 dogs."

  It was beautifully presented and had everything you could wish for to make for a comfortable and lovely stay. Janet was on call to give advice and had left so many delicious treats for us and our girls. The village was welcoming and lots of interesting people met on our daily doggy walks and so many lovely villages to enjoy within easy reach. We would have no hesitation in booking West View, whenever we are back in Cumbria. Sad to leave bur lots of memories to treasure. Thank you!

• "West View is ideally placed for visiting the Lake District and the coast."

  The property was clean and comfortable and had recently been modernised. Everything we needed was provided but a clothes airer would have been useful. All in all we had a great holiday staying at West View.

• "Beautiful cottage, very well appointed with everything you will need for your stay."

  Lovely welcome pack with some treats for our cocker spaniel. The garden is lovely. This is not your usual rental property, the quality is high and Janet the owner is an excellent host. Really was a home from home. Will definitely return if in the area.

• "We had a great stay at West View."

  The property was absolutely beautiful. It was all decorated to a really high standard. The garden was a real sun trap to relax in after returning from a day out. We had great communication with the owner before we arrived and was available if any problems occurred during our stay. It was in a great location to explore the South Lakes, which was a new area for us and would definitely go back.

  The cottage is beautifully renovated and has everything we needed. The terraced garden to the rear is a lovely space to enjoy. Convenient, off-street parking is also a plus. Our dog settled in immediately - always a good sign! We can recommend West View with out hesitation. Simon

• "We really enjoyed our stay at West View."

  On our arrival it was so welcoming and all our doggy needs were catered for. The welcome pack was lovely. We were able to sit in the garden and enjoy the View. The only downside were the steps up to the garden but we were made aware of the steep steps and were prepared. The cottage is in a lovely friendly village and we found a great walk behind the church.

• "If I had one word to describe this property it would be WOW!"

  The cottage was immaculate, hats off to the family that own the property as they have kept it traditional but with modern features. The cottage was perfect and had everything you could possibly need. I really liked the guest book and reading other visitors messages and they loved West View as much as we did! We don’t have a pet but the property is dog friendly and had all the things you need to accommodate a furry friend. The garden is gorgeous we didn’t get the chance to enjoy it as we had some rain , but this gives an excuse to comeback. The location of the property is great, all the main spots to visit in the Lakes is less than a 30 min drive. If you didn’t fancy driving out there are lots of places/walking trails right on the door step. The owners have provided a booklet with leaflets you need to operate the equipment in the property but I especially liked the property history and background of the family that own the cottage which I thought was a lovely touch. The owners have also provided a rack of leaflets of food outlets, local activities, walks and areas of interest which was great and we made use of. The owner Janet before we arrived contacted myself directly via SMS, which I thought was really helpful as then I had a number I could contact if I need to during our stay. I couldn’t recommend this property enough ! It was just perfect and we look forward to coming back!

  Can't recommend west view highly enough, its moden and spotlessly clean,and has every thing you will need for a relaxing holiday, the kitchen is very well equipped with dishwasher, coffee machine and all the gadgets, the downstairs toilet has a lovely shower, upstair you have two beautiful bedrooms and to sit outside in the garden is lovely, having had the pleasure to meet janet and Adrian will certainly be back colin,val

• "I can not recommend West View highly enough."

  It is a lovely cottage in a quite village but close to Windermere, Kenilworth, G.O. Sands etc. The cottage had every thing you needed for a stress free relaxing stay, from comfortable beds to a log burner for those cosy nights in.The garden was a sun trap and safe for our dogs too. Our pets were made just as welcome as ourselves. The owners were a very friendly and welcoming couple who you could call on if needed .A truly top class cottage. We will be booking again.

• "The house was incredible!"

  So cozy and well equipped with lots of blankets. The heating was nice and easy to use as well as the other appliances which made life easy. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable with lots of wardrobe space in the main room. The garden was lovely on a hot morning, the view was great! There was a bus stop right outside the cottage that goes into kendal town centre, which made a very nice day out. There is also so many walking and hiking spots to chose from around, Heversham head was the best it had incredible views just beware of the cows! Overall an amazing stay, just what we needed for a long lazy weekend.

• "We've just spent a fabulous long weekend at West View!"

  The cottage is idyllic, beautifully decorated and super cosy. Everything about the cottage is beautiful and the village is lovely and peaceful, with friendly residents. The owners of the cottage are really friendly and communicative, and they even provided some goodies for puppies and us humans! I cannot recommend West View highly enough; if I could have given it 10 stars I would have!

• "A lovely well equipped cottage with everything you need for comfortable stay."

  We loved the open kitchen and the cosy log burner. Very comfy beds. Surrounding areas were picturesque. Only wish we had booked a longer stay! Would definitely come back :)
