  • "Lovely little cottage in a good location."

All very cosy but beds could have been better. Kitchen well equipped but sad there wasn't a coffee maker (even a cafetiere would be nice!).

Thank you for your feedback. There should be a cafetiere in Curdle Dub. I will ask Lakelovers to check in case it has been broken and thrown out and if so will replace it. I am reluctant to buy a coffee machine as it is yet another appliance to go on the already small area of work surface. Regarding the beds, with the greatest of respect, comfort is a very personal thing and will vary from person to person. No-one has ever complained about the beds and I have only had comments saying how comfy they are. I agree zip beds are a horrible invention but I was advised by Lakelovers to purchase this bed so as to have maximum flexibility. Property Owner

Beautiful little cottage with all the facilities needed for a lovely holiday in The Lakes. Convenient for village, walks from the cottage and buses.

  • "Such a beautiful little cottage, very cute with lots of period features, nooks and crannies and we loved the coziness of the log burner at night."

The beds were super comfy and we had everything we needed for the perfect stay. We was also left a small laundry box from lake lovers that contained a dishcloth, scrubber, dishwasher tabs and a black bag. Car definitely needed to get around and we will be back to enjoy the Lakes one again. Thank you.

Other than that all was fine.

Thank you for letting me know. It was an aerial problem. I have also replaced TV with new SMART TV which I am hoping is obvious to operate! Sorry for the very late response but I only realised today I could respond. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely holiday cottage that was very well equipped and very thoughtful."

The location was perfect as it felt remote but just a 10 minute walk to Coniston and trail accessible behind the home. Would highly recommend for a relaxing holiday away from the bustle of Ambleside and Windermere.

The property

Enjoying a peaceful location close to the village of Coniston, Curdle Dub is perfect for those wanting to be close to shops and local pub, yet away from the busier villages of Windermere and Ambleside.

This luxury property enjoys views of Coniston Water and Grizedale Forest and offers spectacular scenery, walks, water sports and award- winning brewery at the Black Bull pub.

Curdle Dub has been superbly modernised with the finest furnishings and retaining many of its original features.

A charming and welcoming cottage full of character and modern-day comforts.

Outside is a lovely sitting area with a path to the entrance porch.

The sitting room is beautifully appointed, with beams, window seat and feature fireplace with wood burning stove.

A lovely room for unwinding after a busy day on the lake or out walking.

The kitchen is modern, light and extremely well-equipped.

Here guests will find everything needed to whip up a hearty breakfast or delicious evening meal.

Upstairs are two fantastically comfortable bedrooms, cleverly planned to accommodate two couples or family.

The Twin room can be made in to a super king if requested in advance.

The house bathroom is modern and has P-shaped bath with shower over.

Secure bike storage is available outside the cottage, along with parking for one car in the shared parking bays.

Please note that this is a very old property and has steep stairs, a step in the kitchen and uneven floors upstairs. Coniston and the surrounding area have so much to offer, but if one thing must not be missed it is to cruise the lake onboard its famous Victorian steam yacht gondola.
