  • "On arrival I was initially surprised by the size, but on unloading our lluggage we had room to accommodate everything we needed to and still had more than enough space to move in the living area."

The property was immaculately clean and tidy and very well equipped. The bathroom was a bit small, but that did not prevent us from being able to wash and shower as we needed. The welcome note and useful information provided by our host was lovely, as was the provision of a large amount of coffee, tea and other extras. The vouchers for the nearby ‘Loft Bistro’ was a lovely gesture and the food there us to be recommended. The location was absolutely perfect for the 2 different parts of our break, firstly to provide a base for the walking we were doing with friends and colleagues in different locations around the area, then for the 2nd half of the trip spending our time visiting other locations. We also found great food one lunchtine at ’coffee and clay’ in Skipton, and enjoyed a very substantial afternoon tea at ‘Apricot Meringue’ in Clitheroe. We visited the Whalley Wine Bar, in the nearby village of Whalley, and had a wonderful hour there over a drink or two. The walking opportunities in the area are amazing, and I’m sure that we’ll be back at some time to find some more walking spots, and good food & drink. I want to address a comment made about the road noise, its a dual carriageway and as such is very busy during the day, but throughout our stay when we were in the property we had both windows open and (apart from overnight when we were sleeping) the sliding entrance into the property and we were never unduly aware of the noise from the road, much of which is because of the extensive tree and Bush cover to reduce noise. It should also be noted that other properties in the same area of the site were occupied for most of our stay and they never referenced the noise either. Both my wife and I had a brilliant week and would absolutely recommend The Hideaway Pod as a fantastic place to stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We hope you come back very soon to see us. Property Owner

  • "Very clever pictures of the pod."

Extremely uncomfortable bed and very noisy! Felt like we where sleeping on the actual A59 We have stayed in several Sykes cottages accommodation, this one we would never come back to. A blessing for the decking outside. We actually stayed in another air b&b over the weekend to get some sleep! We travel up every month for work and don’t spend much time in a property. With this one we spent even less. We know the area very well having lived in Clitheroe for 42 years until last year. We have a local business and where very disappointed overall. For future we would only advise a single person staying here. We also have about £1000 of damage to the front of our car from the well placed boulder in the parking area! Which we believe lots of guests and even the owners son has had damage from! Just move it!

We are extremely sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us, unlike many of our other guests over the years. The Hideaway Pod is double glazed and well insulated which prevents most of the outside road noise from encroaching on the inside areas, but unfortunately we have no control over the traffic flow on the A59. Many of our previous guests have been couples who have enjoyed the bijou nature of The Hideaway Pod, but we understand that this isn’t for everyone and some people like yourselves, may require more space. We are also sorry to hear that you drove into one of the large boulders, of which there are many dotted across the Holiday Park, these act as a deterrent to stop guests driving on the exceptionally maintained grassed areas. We shall bring it to the attention of the park owners to ask if they can be moved as we do not have ownership of them. We take incredible pride in our holiday pod and would have been more than happy to assist you during your stay, but unfortunately you made no attempt to contact ourselves, so we were unable to address your concerns. Kind regards The Hideaway Pod Property Owner

  • "The Hideaway was very bijou and spotlessly clean."

I expected our accommodation to be tiny but I was still shocked on arrival as to how tiny it was. We couldn’t unpack our car due to lack of space and storage. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and it would have been a fag to make it up every night so once we made it up on our first night we just straightened it each morning. The balcony chairs and disposable barbecue appeared on our second evening. We ate out every day due to the cramp cooking facilities. The owner and son were both lovely people and I am finding hard to write this review.

Many thanks for your feedback and thank you for acknowledging how spotlessly clean the accommodation was. There is storage under the sofa bed, storage cupboards in the kitchen area, plus hanging space and a storage cupboard next to the sofa bed. The accommodation has a dedicated dining table in the living area along with a separate toaster/ kettle area, allowing room in the kitchen area for a sink, 2 ring hob and also a microwave housed in a dedicated cupboard, in the kitchen area. We can certainly look at adding this information to the advert. The sofabed only takes seconds to pull out/put back and if folded back in the mornings would certainly have allowed you much more space during the day, as well as the available outdoor decking area for both daytime and evenings. This area has had a barbecue and chairs at all times and we are not aware of any reason why they would not have been there on your arrival. If we had known during our conversations with you during your stay that you needed any help, we would have been only too glad to help at the time. Property Owner
