  • "A lovely cosy cottage in an idyllic, peaceful setting on the edge of Settle, perfect for hiking direct from the front door."

The cottage is warm, comfortable, quiet and inviting.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it is very greatly appreciated. It is a great cottage in a great spot and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Ian & Victoria. Property Owner

  • "Washing up liquid and spare bin liners were needed, but other than that, well equipped relaxing setting."

Maybe cushions and a throw would add to the cosiness downstairs, and a curtain to block out draughts from front door. It's our second time staying at this cottage, and we hope to visit again, we love it so much. Thank you

Hi and welcome back, always a great recommendation when people come back as you have. It happens a lot and is always very nice. It's a shame the system marks us down simply because of your comment about washing up liquid, which is under the sink with bin bags. Thank you for your suggestion of cushions, they have now been provided. We look forward to you coming back again for the third time! Ian & Victoria. Property Owner

Lovely location for the cottage on the Green in Settle but in easy reach of the shops, restaurants and pubs. Very well maintained, cosy cottage with welcoming, helpful and attentive owners.

  • "Cottage was charming and exceeded expectations."

Met cleaner briefly- a very pleasant woman. Minor problem with parking - arriving weary after drive from Sheffield we encountered elderly neighbour who tried to dissuade us from using only parking space available as it would ‘ spoil her view of the animals’ ( sheep I suppose). Subsequently parking on very narrow road could be tricky but we usually found a space nearby. We did miss a cafetière but I am being picky!thank you for wine .

Dear John, We are pleased you enjoyed the cottage, parking is tricky in Settle but the cottage is in the best part of the centre for parking and there are no restrictions here (unlike most of the rest) of Settle, the pensioner you refer to thought you were going to leave your vehicle across her living room window and perhaps didn't realise you planned to move it ? There has never been a problem before. We hope to see you again. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Ian & Victoria. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property maintained well and had everything we needed, would have liked a broom to sweep floors especially with a doggy."

A stair gate would have been handy as pets not allowed upstairs but nothing to stop them going upstairs when going to bed. Other than that superb property, there was a lovely welcome card and bottle of wine which was a nice gesture. Thanks would definitely recommend.

We are really please you enjoyed the cottage and your stay. We would love to see you again. Ian & Victoria Property Owner

  • "The cottage is situated in a quite location on the outskirts of Settle, ideal for 2 people and a dog."

The cottage itself was clean and cosy with a comfortable bed (our only minor gripe, no freezer compartment in the fridge for the G & T ice). Roadside parking for the car was not an issue during our stay. The town centre itself is a short walk away, with plenty of shops, supermarkets and dog friendly places to eat and drinks. We would highly recommend as a place to stay when visiting The Dales. Skipton, Hawes, Malham and Grassington are a scenic short dive away with plenty of walks on the door step.

Thank you for your lovely review and taking the time to leave it. we are glad that you had a nice stay and hope you will be back soon ! Ian & Victoria. Property Owner

  • "Excellent condition, just a couple of things."

A lack of a shelf in the bathroom, or hook on back of door. No light bulb in the floor standing lamp in lounge. Loved staying here, and my sister and her friend are booked for later in August, would definitely recommend. Very quiet and peaceful.

Dear Guest, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay, the light bulb has been changed - we are sorry it inconvenienced you. We will put a hook on the bathroom door, thank you for the suggestion. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for taking the time to leave a nice review. Ian & Victoria. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is beautifully appointed, with high quality furnishings and fittings."

The beds are really comfortable and it is warm and cosy both upstairs and downstairs, with very efficient central heating and log burner. bathroom is great, good sized bath and very warm. The cottage is compact but there is plenty space for two people and a dog. It is just a short, easy walk to the shops shops and cafes in Settle. Situated on The Green, it has lovely views and is so peaceful and relaxing. There are walks from the cottage up onto the fells, and more challenging walks are just a short drive away. Parking is limited on The Green, but there is a big car park just a few minutes away. We felt that this contributed to the peace and quiet as very few cars go past. We can’t wait to come and stay again. The host was most considerate and accommodating. Thank you!

Thank you Helen for your lovely review, which does describe how we also feel about the cottage. Its a shame owners can't leave guests reviews as you have been a pleasure and left it in a great condition. Thank you for coming, we look forward to your return visit. Regards Ian & Victoria.
