  • "Really enjoyed our week in Ulverston ."

Travelled to Morecambe, Grange, Dudgeon valley, Langdales, Mallon , Whitehaven , Keswick etc. kitchen good, Tv fine, settee not very comfortable .Beds ok Bathroom not clean. Little garden has great potential but needs to be properly maintained. Cleaners need to supervised or changed .Dirty towels and bedding shoved in a cupboard Cottage has great potential but bathroom unclean and garden and area round back door unloved and unclean.

  • "3rd stay here and to be honest I did notice that it wasn't as clean as it should have been."

I had to wipe the cupboards a nd fridge out. We had a problem with tv first night due to remote being flat and needing a recharge. Now put a note in book as it is solar recharched or Samsung charger. We were also cold and could not fathom how to turn heating up. Radiators were luke warm. Maybe they need bleeding. However we enjoyed our stay snd the new 3/s sofa is great

  • "The position of this cottage is really good, close to the town centre but at the start of the Gill."

My wife and I, found it to be comfortable and practical inside. The kitchen had everything we needed. I liked the open plan ground floor and clever dining space. The first floor landing was a little haven where we could sit and read, or look at the terrace through the sliding picture window. The terrace provided another space to sit and eat when the weather was dry. We used the double bedroom on the second floor because it was adjacent to the bathroom. All in all, it was just right for us.

Thank you for taking the time to review Endgill Cottage and sharing your experience with us, it's great to hear the ground floor design works well. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in a lovely location but needs some improvements in terms of facilities and the housekeeping is poor ."

When we arrived the house had not been cleaned properly . It had not been hoovered , there were dirty pots in the dishwasher and a dirty coffee cup in the bedroom . Added to that there was no loo roll , no oven gloves , no corkscrew , only one tea towel and only 3 mugs in a house for 4 people . The top bedroom has velux roof windows but there are no blinds on them so woken up by the bright light at. 5.30 each morning . There is a washing machine but no tumble drier or clothes airer to then dry clothes and no iron . Added to that during our stay the boiler stopped working and we had to wait til the following morning for the housekeeper to come so had no hot water for one day. There is no equipment for cleaning either so with a dog in the lakes and returning from walks it would benefit from a hoover and mop. Ulverston is lovely and the cottage is in a great location but needs some improvement to housekeeping and facilities .

Thank you for taking the time to review Endgill Cottage and sharing your comments with us, and pleased you found the location and Ulverston such a lovely place to visit. The house had been cleaned ready for your visit, when we offered to return to repeat a clean it was declined twice. We also ask Guests not to change the heating controls, the breakdown call out was declined and delayed to the following day. We ask that pets are well behaved for our team to provide visits when they arise. we continue to work closely with housekeeping to ensure the place is looking it's best. Property Owner

  • "Lovely little cottage let down by housekeeping i’m afraid."

Dog hairs left on carpet in bedroom and very obvious a dog had been sleeping on the cushions on the middle landing. I may have to look for non pet cottages in future as a person with an allergy to spaniel fur I need to ensure a property has been well hoovered. It is a nice spot though especially for walkers as it is right on the Cumbria way, plus Ulverston is a lovely town. It might be expensive if you have to use the car park though fortunately a neighbour told us there were no restrictions right outside the cottage and we found a free space every day.

  • "Lovely cottage very well situated for access to the town and local walks."

Spotlessly clean and loads of fresh towels and bedding. Lovely enclosed, terrace which, although quite small it was adequate for my dog to enjoy. Only negative for me was there was no hairdryer. My own fault for not reading the facilities properly and just expecting there to be one. But, one would expect that, given the area, expected outdoor activities and Northern inclement weather, it would be a given that there would be an appliance available to help spruce yourself up after a long wet walk or cycle before heading to one (or two) of the great pubs or restaurants minutes from you door! Definitely would book this cottage again.

  • "The property is great and I've now stayed twice."

The only issue is the very small sofa there were only 2 of us but we had to bring the chair off the landing down. Also no cleaning products at all in bathroom and no cloths and only one t towel and one loo roll. I would suggest you take extras. No scissors in kitchen either. The top bedroom could be a problem in summer as it has velux windows in the roof. I took my eye mask lol. We had a great time it's in a great spot. Just little niggles but will be back and would recommend.

We are just a family of 3 plus dog however had to bring the chair from the landing down so we could all have a comfortable seat so think a family of four would struggle , more seating recommended x

Thank you for the feedback, we're always looking at how to improve the customers experience, a larger ground floor sofa is in place so more space now to sit and relax after a long walk. Property Owner

Loved the fully enclosed garden terrace, perfect for our dog. Fantastic location, very short walk to the village, which has plenty of shops, pubs/restaurants. The Gill is literally outside the door, the sound of the river is tranquil and very relaxing. Plenty of great walks locally, the John Barrow monument is a brilliant sight to see.

The only thing that I can fault is the very uncomfortable sofa as mentioned on previous feedback. With 2 adults it's not much room and not very big. Don't know where any other adults would sit. Maybe a 3/s a comfy one !!! Oh and no bread knife to cut my nice sourdough bought locally. LOL

  • "We had a perfect little weekend stay at Endgill Cottage."

Everything was as described and expected - a compact but beautiful cottage in a lovely village location, with the sound of running water from the stream close by. All the amenities were modern, clean and comfortable. My only suggestions for improvement would be to include a larger settee (space is limited but a 3 seater would fit and be more comfortable than a loveseat) and a hot tub - there is great space for it on the upstairs terrace. Thank you, we will be back to Endgill cottage.

Great to hear you had such a good time at Endgill Cottage, thank you very much for your positive feedback, we will take onboard your suggestions as we are always looking to improve the holiday cottage experience. Property Owner
