  • "Lovely lodge."

cozy, warm and private. Hot tub was a real bonus. only things i would comment on was the lodge is a bit dated, the light above the mirror in the bathroom did not work, the shower is rusting at the top and comes out of the top holder if not careful, the bin lid in the kitchen needs replacing and the plug in the bathroom sink comes out of the hole its fixed in ... just minor things that maybe need replacing/fixing. the lodge was really lovely though and clean.

  • "Couldnt fault the property."

It done us for a nice relaxed week away. If i wanted to be picky, you could update you welcome notes, only one of them had instructions on how to use the fire on the back of it. We'd worked it out before i found it though, but thats just a tiny thing. Lovely lodge, we'd come back again :-)

it is very homely especially at this time of year with the christmas tree and decorations up! me and my partner absolutely loved it no faults everything was just perfect. Very clean lodge with everything you need for your stay. I have stayed at white cross before in different lodges but this one is just everything and more. The owners provide you with a variety of games, internet and a smart tv. I would 100% recommend and i will definitely be staying again!

The kitchen could do with a few more utensils such as a colander, wine glasses maybe a small folding table to eat at. Especially when the weather isn’t good enough to sit on decking.

  • "This was a lovely, comfy, cosy lodge, which was just the right size for a family of 3/4."

The hot tub is an added bonus. We enjoyed out stay and will book again. However the WIFI is terrible, we could not access the private WIFI account at all and the park one drops out constantly, the TV had no signal whatsoever!! (I know you do not go on holiday to watch TV but with a teenager and a rainy day there was not much else to do!!) The only other things worth a mention, there is no dining table (again not an issue if you plan on eating out every night) and no clothes horse which made it a bit difficult to dry swimming costumes and towels after the hot tub when the weather was bad! As stated these are minor things we loved our stay and the lodge and have already recommended it to friends and family and are planning a return visit.

Hi thank you for your lovely review The wifi is being checked by the site so hopefully will be sorted , We have provided Airers for drying but guests break them as fast as we replace them Property Owner

  • "I stayed at Esk Pike Lodge with my partner and it was a lovely, cosy space for the two of us."

A lovely secluded spot, felt like we were high up in the trees looking out the windows. Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful spot. We travelled by train/bus and there are very convenient bus stops right outside the park. We couldn't figure out how to get the fire on, my partner and I followed the instructions provided but nothing happened. But it was still warm once the radiators heated up. The little village nearby was lovely to walk through and plenty of nice places for coffee or to shop. Not far from the lake front either. The hot tub hut was lovely, we were thankful for the shelter over the hot tub with the torrential rain during our stay. Only thing to mention would be the hairdryer was covered in something sticky and looked like it could break off. It still worked but I couldn't remove or clean whatever was stuck to it. But everything else was clean and we really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased to hear you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the area. Thank you for bring the issues with the fire and hair dryer to our attention. These will be looked into further by our local team. Property Owner

  • "Lovely lodge, well placed for privacy."

Hot tub was excellent and clearly well maintained, we really enjoyed making the most of it during the evenings. Lovely lounge and fire which made for cosy nights. Double bedroom was very comfortable. A few minor adjustments would make the lodge perfect. For example, there was not adequate glassware. Dining space inside was tight and there were only 2 of us. The shower room could do with some love and attention. All in all we had a great stay and would return.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you had a lovely stay at Esk Pike. We will pass on your comments about the glassware onto our housekeeping team. We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

  • "We loved our week stay at Esk Pike."

The cabin was cosy and clean and the hot tub was a big win. A couple of extras would give it a 10 however. There was no clothes maiden...it was difficult to dry clothes and towels, especially if using the hot tub and swimming everyday. Secondly, out of 3 phones...non of us could connect to the WiFi at all. Two of us couldn't even get phone reception and the third had to buy extra data. I know it is advertised as not being strong and ran by the resort, but the log on details were not parkdean so very confusing. All in all, a great stay...a good base for exploring Windermere and surrounding areas, just a couple of small things would have made it 100%.

Many thanks for taking the time to submit your valued and positive feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Esk Pike and grateful to you for highlighting where improvements could be made. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi issue is the responsibility of the park and we are reliant upon them to upgrade as necessary. The suggestion of a clothes maiden is something we will look into. If there is sufficient room to store this item within the lodge then we will ensure one is provided for future use. If you should decide to visit the area again, we very much look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

The only negative was unfortunately we couldn't stay in the main double room due to the extremely strong musty smell - that persisted despite leaving the windows open. This was disappointing. We still enjoyed the lodge.

  • "What can I say about Esk Pike Lodge, the living room or lounge if your posh is very cosy, nice settee/sofabed, big t."

V ( not a lot of channels about 20 on freeview)., lovely fireplace, nice carpet. The kitchen has all the usual items you would need, kettle, microwave ,toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer, crockery etc. The bedrooms both have t.vs and drawers for your clothes, the main bedroom has an overbed wardrobe although the middle cupboard was padlocked for whatever reason. The bathroom was nice with a decent shower in it, towels were provided. Oh yeah and a hot tub which we used every day we were there. Now the downsides of Esk pike lodge. there isn't many. 1. the mattress in the main bedroom was not good for me or my wife it was too soft and springy, so I ended up sleeping on the settee and my wife on the single bed, who's mattress was also no good for me. 2. no place for a BBQ, not that we could have had one as it rained all the time we were there. 3. the wifi, its not brilliant, we had 2 days with no internet service at all, so basically used up all our data allowances on the mobiles, I mean I wasn't expecting superfast fibre broadband, but some internet connection would have been nice. now in conclusion would I stay at Esk pike lodge again, simple answer YES,(we're already looking for next year) would I recommend this lodge to other people, again simple answer YES I WOULD, its a lovely cosy lodge in a quiet part of the park. one last thing, on the morning we were leaving I was sat outside when a DEER came walking past, which was quite a nice ending to our weekend break

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for bringing a few things to our attention, we do find comfort to be a personal preference but we will definitely keep an eye on the mattress. We are sorry you had issues with the wifi, unfortunately this is something outside of our control as it is provided by the park. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are delighted to hear you would recommend this lodge and would stay again. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back. Property Owner

The hot tub was fantastic to relax in at the end of the day so is a bonus . The lodge provided most things I would like to suggest that a maiden would have been most helpful to dry out the towels and clothing this would be a great addition as there was nowhere to hang wet items this was the only thing that I can have a negative comment about as everything else was just perfect for a relaxing break . A good day out was had at Aira Force , lots of different walks and beautiful water falls . I would definitely recommend a stay at this cosy lodge What did you enjoy most about your stay? • "The lodge we had was by far the best, secluded surrounded by nature, amazing!"

The ONLY thing I could mention is jacuzzi water smells so much of bleach we couldn't open the window just next to it from the bedroom because the smell was unbearable at night even with the cover on jacuzzi, but this minor thing didn't stop us enjoying our holiday there, and some staff had attitude but it's expected anywhere, otherwise amazing lodge and location! • "Beautiful cabin perfect for couples or families with older children."

Unfortunately as we have a 1&2 year old it wasn't very practical. (No room for travel cot in 2nd room, lots of nick nacks that little people want just because they know they aren't allowed.) Of course these are purely issues we experienced due to our own circumstances and not a reflection of the lodge itself and only mentioned for those in a similar circumstance that may be looking. The hot tub was an absolute delight! For a lodge/caravan park. This is the most private you can get. It was bliss! Would have been amazing to eat out on the balcony on a morning but we had poor weather. The on-site facilities are decent enough. Food wasn't the best at the bar but your literally 10min drive from bowness and Windermere where there's plenty of places to go. But for a few social drinks the on-site bar is ideal with entertainment on a evening. There a spar, swimming pool and outdoor play areas for kids and even a small arcade room. A shop too but it closes around 5. The cabin was lovely and snug for a evening. But the double bed was like sleeping on a rock. However the spare room beds were very comfortable. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub and privacy What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Windermere boat cruise

We stayed last year also, and find it has everything we need. It's cosy, comfortable, quiet and perfect for winding down and relaxing for a few days. We love the outdoor hot tub and all the outside space on the decking. We also find it to be in a perfect position as it is close to the local towns of Ambleside and Windermere, yet when at the lodge it is so quiet and peaceful. It was everything we had hoped for, clean, lots of lovely little touches and we all had an amazing week here. The kids absolutely loved the hot tub, which was undercover and just wonderful, and we all didnt want to leave when the time came to go home! Would definitely recommend for the location, just a peaceful little haven. Only disappointment is finding out that pets will no longer be allowed for any new bookings..such a shame as we were planning to return next year and also recommend this lodge to family who have dogs too. • "A lovely log cabin with traditional decor in a great location for peace and quiet."

It was smaller than the lodges we've stayed in previously, however the location was a massive bonus keeping us very private and away from passing walkers. The bedrooms are excellent with more than enough space for 4 people, however this lodge is more suited to people who will be out and about through the day as there's limited space in the room on the one corner sofa if there's bad weather and you need TV time. There are seats outside on the amazing decking space which are lovely to relax on, however these are quite a bit away from the door so you can't socialise together for those who are sat inside. Our dogs loved the spacious (and secure) decking to capture the sun on after our long walks around Windermere and the lodge showed no signs of ever having dogs in, it was immaculately clean. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location, it's very much a private space What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walking around the pony meadow early doors to capture the deer, including fawn and stags, all grazing and enjoying the space. All found within the White across Bay park

  • "Before arriving we had received plenty of useful information so when we arrived we knew where to go and what to bring with us."

The lodge was lovely and clean, very homely and had plenty of information about what to do in the local area, local shops, pubs etc. The situation was in a lovely quiet area of the park, but was only a few mins walk to the lake. There was work going on with the lodge next door, but they were very courteous and it didn't affect us. The hot tub was a very pleasant addition and enjoyed in the sunny evenings! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Relaxing quiet environment What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Grizedale forest

    Miss Melinda JollyMay 2016

  • "Helpful reception staff who provided a map of the park, the lodge was clean."

The white cross bay park was lovely, able to get down to the lake easily and there is a lovely walk through the woods where you might glimpse some deer. The food at the on site bar was not of a high standard and was overpriced in our opinion. The bed in the main bedroom needs replaced or at least the mattress does. There are beautiful walks nearby and lots of activities to do and lots of dog friendly places which was nice to see. Overall a pleasant holiday but we probably wouldn't return due to distance. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The walks and the lake. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Go to Pedros (walk as they do lovely cocktails)

  • "Esk Pike was a nice lodge but my one comment would be that the kitchen is in dire need of renovating, the fridge has gone through the wooden stand it is on and was unstable, a drawer was broken and another cupboard door didn't shut properly."

I will also say that the fridge was mouldy and the cleanliness of the kitchen was not good. In the same vain the bathroom too could do with some care and attention. • "The lodge was great and the hot tub fantastic, the only two things I would have a little moan about were the location of the lodge, it did say quite and good for families and that was what we were looking for but with the kids aged 8 & 6 and wanted to go out on there bikes it was a very steep hill that the lodge is located on."

The other thing was with the lodge being Dog friendly I thought we would be Okay to leave him there when we were going out for a few hours but that's not the case you cant leave them on there own, with the weather being good and hot we were very limited on what we could do as the Dog was always in the car if you were out and about in the towns shopping etc.. Apart from my 2 little moans everything was fantastic and will defiantly be back but I will put the dog in the kennels and book a lodge that's on flat ground for the kids on there bikes. • "My husband and I stayed at Esk Pike for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it!"

Perfect location for peace and quiet. Lodge was beautiful however the outside could do with a cob web sweep! Hot tub was fantastic and just what you need after a hard day of doing nothing except enjoying the wildlife and beautiful surroundings. We will be back next year for a longer stay!

    Mrs Michelle OlubodunSep 2014

  • "As we approached I knew we were going to love it here!"

The lodge was surrounded on three sides by woodland. There were rabbits all over, within the first hour we saw a deer, and at night we watched bats flying around, brilliant for animal lovers like us, the location was perfect,an elevated position and not overlooked even tho there were other lodges around. The lodge itself was lovely inside, cosy and clean. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus, very private and covered.A short walk down to the marina is a must,I sat with the dog as they paddled and even caught a tiddler! A word of caution tho, don't let yr dog go in water as ours did and had a sneaky drink and we were up all night with her being poorly. There is a notice up warning of this danger of algae to dogs but it is very small,so maybe that could be made more promenant. We went to Ambleside, five minutes away, and into Bowness where we had a lovely cruise. One night we went to the Hole In T'wall in Windermere for a meal and it was superb. All in all a great five days, fantastic weather, location and helpful staff should you need them. If you want to sit out on the decking with a cuppa in the morning and see deers walking down the path and bunnies around then this is the place for you! We are already planning a return next year but for a bit longer. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The wildlife, the hot tub and the quiet location. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? A cruise in Bowness is a must .

We used the Hot Tub every night and after our days out it was very relaxing, there was a storm one night it didn't bother us to stay in it as it is covered. We sat on the decking quite a few times and it was lovely to see wildlife( wild rabbits, birds and I even saw a deer). What did you enjoy most about your stay? All of it... Just So Relaxing :-) What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Bowness on Windermere

  • "From booking to departure, Lake District Lodge Holidays were faultless in their customer service."

Excellent communications throughout the booking process and the days leading up to our stay at the Lodge! (We even got a text message on the day of arrival wishing us a lovely holiday and kind weather...a really nice touch!) The lodge itself was perfect for a couple looking for a romantic and relaxing week away from the stresses of every day life. Great location with plenty of wildlife. Outdoor hot tub with a wooden gazebo protecting it. There are lodges close by but due to the positioning of the Lodge it was still very private and extremely quiet. It had everything you could need and was like a home from home. The only criticism I have was that everything was stored everywhere and you had to go hunting for things...we didn't find the iron until our second to last day! Perhaps a laminated list of where things are located could be put in the kitchen/hallway? (Iron, first aid kit, parasol, fuse box etc) to make it easier to locate things for guests. There were a few lightbulbs that needed replacing but I'm really scraping the barrel for faults there because generally everything was excellent. We had a power/electric trip during out of office hours but Mark from Lake District Lodge Holidays was fantastic and with his quick response and advice had everything back up and running within 15 mins. Again, another example of excellent customer service from Lake District Lodge Holidays! I would definitely highly recommend both Lake District Lodge Holidays and Esk Pike 9 lodge if you are looking to stay in the Lake District, and I certainly will be booking with them again in the future. Thank you for a pleasurable stay. Lee. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The hot tub and wooded gazebo protecting it from the elements. Private and Quiet location. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Bowness on Windermere is nice. Especially around the lake. Also there is a bus stop outside the park that offers a 'rover' ticket for only ?7 which allows you bus travel all day long to various different towns and villages around the central lakes such as Ambleside.

    Mr Lee FlitcroftMar 2014

  • "We would recommend this lodge."

It's clean, comfortable and the hot tub is fab. The site is lovely and the location is brilliant, close to Windermere, Ambleside and it's a short drive to Keswick. There is plenty to do and explore. We will be going again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The relaxing quiet location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walks
