"Nice property in a great location."
Plenty of space for a family of four.
As with previous customers, the heating is a bit erratic. The towel rails were problematic. They were red hot at the bottom and cold at the top (need bleeding?) and made very loud clanking sounds at certain times until we turned the dial down. We turned them off in the end as they woke us up several times.
Bedrooms need blackout blinds too as they only have basic slat blinds.
Loads to do nearby and well placed for buses and trains too. Overall recommended, but please do get the heating issues sorted.

"We loved our stay , and really appreciated the renovation and the quality of the home ."
Lots of room to dry our damp coats and ample bathrooms to accommodate us all .
We found the heating a bit challenging - either upstairs was cold and downstairs hot, but dining room cold. Also, occasionally there’s a loud sort of rumble - a bit like the sound of a macerator - we think from water use in the adjacent properties ? It worried us first , but we got used to it . All in all a great place - would recommend .

"Really well located in the town with Booths supermarket behind and lots of places to eat close by."
A very high standard of accommodation and well equipped too. Parking on the driveway out front is a bonus. Would definitely stay again and was sorry not to be there for a second week.
Point to note is that the top bedroom is up a very steep and narrow spiral staircase so would not suit everyone.
The only improvements I would make (and these are very minor, which goes to show how fantastic the property is) are locks on the bathrooms and a less annoying cutlery drawer (you'll know what I mean if you stay).

"The property is one of the cleanest we have ever stayed at."
The facilities are excellent, and we had a fabulous stay. The property is perfectly placed with all the local shops, bars and take aways close by. The train station is also very close by which allowed us to have some days out and leave the car at home. We could not find fault with anything and are looking forwards to a return visit.
The property is decorated and furnished to a high standard. You will not be disappointed if you book and stay here.

"The shower in the front bedroom could do with a non slip mat."
We found the heating system confusing and difficult to manage, especially as the temperature dropped during our stay.
The property is lovely and very well equipped. It's such a shame it is next to a takeaway. On the one occasion we could sit out in the late afternoon, we had to come in because of the smell. Very central and had a fabulous stay.
Ages ranged from 17 to 78.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on the house...The 'nest' system was supposed to make the heating system easier to manage, so a shame that it created an issue for you. Apologies for that, but glad you enjoyed your stay nonetheless.

"The house is in a perfect location for exploring the Windermere region."
However, the fabulous accessibility to all the amenities in Windermere means that you may have road noise from quite early in the morning.
The house was well presented and very well equipped. There are a lot of quirky stairs to encounter when moving from room to room but they are mentioned by the owner on the website.
Would definitely return and recommend

"The property it’s self met expectations for the price charged."
However with regards to the heating the Nest control was locked and could only be accessed via a pin. The heating was set at 16, however I was able to increase to 21 on occasions other times I couldn’t because it’s controlled by the owners using their App. Living in Singapore for the last 17 years I am used to the heat and at times (to many) the house was cold !
Luckily I had the log fire
Thanks for your feedback, and apologies the heating created an issue for you during your stay, but glad you are able to utilise the log burner! The house is so well insulated, that when the plumber set the system up, and input the baseline temps, he was certain they would be sufficient. And as you say there is the flexibility to increase the temperature in the two 'zones' if needed.

"The Old Village House was in a great location in Windermere."
A really lovely , comfortable and clean property with everything you could need for a stay.
There were 3 couples in our group and there was plenty of room in the house and all the bedrooms were spacious and all had great en-suites.
I would recommend and would stay here again.

"This cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and very comfortable."
Whoever designed the renovation has made very impressive use of the space. We all loved it. Really central to Windermere town and having parking for 2 cars is really handy. Although just off the main road, it is well sound proofed - we never noticed traffic noise. I suppose it's worth pointing out that the spiral staircase to the attic bedroom is quite tight - although I'm 59 years old and had no problems getting up and down. Highly recommended - no negatives to report.
