The Property

This immaculately-presented apartment is superbly located in the heart of Coniston, in the spectacular Lake District, just five minutes’ walk from Coniston Water. Well-appointed throughout to provide contemporary accommodation, this Coniston cottage is perfect for a relaxing break in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. This first floor Coniston cottage has a very spacious king-size double bedroom with views across the village to the Coniston Fells, together with a superb en-suite bathroom. The open plan living area at this Coniston cottage is welcoming and comfortable, and provides the perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring the fells. Outside this Coniston cottage is a small patio area with seating, so you can sit with the morning paper and a coffee as you plan the day’s activities. The thriving village of Coniston has some excellent pubs and even has its own brewery producing Bluebird Bitter, and offers fantastic natural attractions including Lake Coniston where Donald Campbell broke four World Water Speed Records in 1950, before sadly fatefully crashing on the lake in 1967. His fully restored Bluebird K7 boat is now housed in Ruskin Museum nearby. The Old Man of Coniston sits majestically behind the village providing a stunning backdrop, and this Coniston cottage makes an excellent walking base, with many routes available from the door to Tarn Hows, Tilberthwaite and the charming village of Hawkshead, which has some interesting shops and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Grizedale Forest is also on the doorstep of this Coniston cottage, and is very popular for mountain biking. This Coniston cottage makes a wonderful base for enjoying all this and more, at any time of the year.

Perfect location, accommodation was perfect the best I have ever stayed in will definitely be going back.

Mr Buxton, Rowley Regis, September 2013

We were delighted with Swallow's Nest. Everything was immaculate, and there were lots of unexpected extras. The location was ideal for us, as it was close to cafes, shops etc.

Mr Siddall, Torquay, September 2013

This property is in a very good location. Although Coniston seems quite quiet, it was very close to several pubs serving good food and close to the shops.

Mrs Watkinson, Bristol, August 2013

Perfect location for walkers a different footpath around every corner

Mrs Webb, Wellingborough, July 2013
