  • "The cottage is very clean and tidy, its has TV in the bedroom and downstairs living room with Netflix and Amazon prime on the living room TV, the kitchen is well supplied with utensils , I couldn't praise the cottage enough."

The cottage is well position for the village shops and the local people are very friendly , I recommend the barkery and the fish and chip shop and for well price tools the hardware shop. There are two beaches near by, north and south and are both worth a visit, has well as a RSPB nature reserve at Tichwell there are local arts and crafts near by and excellent cafes and restaurants. We had a very comfortable and restful holiday and would recommend a stay here to anyone thinking of this part of Norfolk.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback Hope to see you again Property Owner

Superbly fitted out with considerate touches that make the difference. Extremely comfortable. Parking spot is a bonus - and the cottage is 20 mins walk from beach, round the corner from good local shops, plus is quiet despite being just off the High Street. Very helpful landlady as a bonus. Highly recommended and hope to visit again.

  • "We loved our stay at the cottage."

It was spotlessly clean, cosy, quiet and near the village. Everything was as described. Our only slight criticism was no hand rail as you ascend/descend the first part of the staircase. We are a couple approaching 70 and physically quite able. However we feel it would definitely be advantageous to install a handrail for the bottom part of the staircase making it more comfortable to ascend/descend the stairs. Everything else was perfect! Would definitely recommend!

Within easy reach of many places, Sandringham, Holkham Hall, beach etc. Cottage had everything you need and more, we had a lovely time. Read previous reviews re: stairs, they are steep but has a handrail and we didn’t have any problems. Would recommend the cottage to others.

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at Kath's Cottage."

Everything was spotlessly clean and equipped to a high standard. The location was great, with shops, bus stop and pub a few minutes walk away. We were even able to take advantage of the outdoor seating area in spite of it being October. One thing to note is that the cottage is nearly 200 years old and has a steep staircase, which may not suite the less able.

  • "The cottage is exactly as described."

It is extremely clean and tidy on arrival. The kitchen is well stocked - crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. To be honest more than you'd need but covers all bases. Modern equipment throughout including a bee smart TV. The owner is very friendly and readily available should the need arise (it didn’t for us). Off road car parking is easy to access and the road is not busy making it easy to get out. Location is just great. Walking distance to three pubs, a Tesco Express at the end of the road (Lidl on the edge of the village) and of course the beach is only about a mile away. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • "On arrival due to cold spell, it felt as if cottage needed some warmth and airing and it smelt damp under the sink but there were no heating instructions or obvious switches and turning up thermostat made no difference."

It was switched off inside boiler so would never have come on and should have been checked. There were no instructions for electric wood burning stove either with no visible buttons (it was necessary to get down to floor level to find them). In the drawers and cupboards I found old guarantees, out of date information and multiple instructions about putting out the bins . The property would benefit from just one comprehensive list to include heating and tv. On a plus note, the shower, bed and bedding were first class, kitchen well equipped and the situation great for shops, local bakery, buses and beach and once the place warmed up quite cosy and nice to come back to after a day out. However, my departure felt hurried and pressurised as without warning the owner arrived with cleaning stuff and a man put a ladder up by bedroom window at 9.15am (I could have been getting dressed!) I expect Covid situation may have impacted on smooth running of this cottage causing a lot of hiccups, and hopefully my experiences won't be repeated by future visitors. .

We had everything we needed And there are plenty of shops nearby. The Norfolk beaches were gently buzzing with plenty of space to social distance and we struck gold with the weather. You have to be eating fairly early because lots of places are shutting up shop by 8 pm but we were delighted that so many pubs had opened their gardens and made such an effort to provide food in a safe way. It was just the break we needed after such a long time at home.

Had too use car everyday and travel to the coastal resorts walking to the Heacham beach was just to far for us even we walk a lot at home . About the location

HEACHAM

Hunstanton 2.5 miles; King's Lynn 15 miles.

Heacham is a large village located on the West Norfolk coastline, on The Wash, boasting a lovely family friendly sandy beach, ideal for jet skis, kitesurfing and windsurfing. The village has many cottages built from Carstone, which is a feature of this part of Norfolk, and also offers a good range of shops, restaurants and country pubs. Within walking distance is Caley Hall, home to Norfolk Lavender with its sweet smelling lavender fields, and Heacham Hall, owned by John Rolfe, who brought his young bride Pocahontas to England to live at the hall (in the local church of St Mary you will find a memorial to her). This part of Norfolk is renowned for its abundance of birdlife throughout the year, with several local RSPB sites, while within easy driving distance is Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Gardens, as seen on BBC's Springwatch. Nearby Hunstanton offers traditional seaside entertainment including a sealife centre, while The Queen's Sandringham Estate is just a 15 minute drive.
