Location: Betws-y-coed

Llanrwst 4 miles; Blaenau Ffestiniog 11 miles.

Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, is North Wales' most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.

Previous visitors' comments about Bwthyn:

Quiet location with lovely scenery. Close to many great places to visit. Great for taking the dog as there are many walks in the area.
Mr Graham, High Peak, December 2011

Location was perfect - peaceful but near to all visitor/walking attractions. Holiday cottage was exactly as described. Perfect for a couple and dog. Owners were very helpful. Plenty of information in cottage about local and not so local attractions.
Mr Soulsby, East Linton, October 2011

The cottage was very compact but it had everything I needed. The owner's were welcoming and friendly but did not intrude on my time there. If I were to return to this part of Wales I would be happy to go there again.
Ms O'brien, Enniskillen, August 2011

The secluded location of the cottage was lovely and ideal for all the walking we did whilst on holiday. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and our dog. It was clean and had everything we would need, the owners were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be returning!
Mrs Locking, Hereford, March 2011
