  • "Lovely location with view from upstairs over the harbour."

Fresh fish shop nearby, short walk to pubs and restaurants. Parking is tight but OK if you are good at reversing. Kitchen well equipped. Bed very comfortable. Shower good.Cleanliness mostly good but showing signs of a full season of use. One or two minor maintenance issues.

Great cottage, exactly as described cosy for 2 adults and 1 dog; amazing views, parking is small ok for us as had a small car, nothing bad to say at all, would recommend to anyone 10 out of 10, close for town easy walk, bit of a steep path by but ok for us, loads of eating and drinking places in Conwy

Front door creaked opening and closing. No dishwasher as stated. Patio area not clean and garden furniture green mouldy. Outside toilet dirty and door wouldn't close. Soft furnishings in living room dusty and uncomfortable. We were both bitten on sofa. Slipped on stair carpet and fell downstairs splitting head and hurting back and ribs. Location lovely but not best experience.

Parking was very tight and great care needed when reversing down past the many holiday makers milling around the harbour. The shower area was good but would have benefited from a soap dish. No direct view of the harbour can be seen from the downstairs window. The cottage is located in an ideal spot for the town, harbour and surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay and would happily return at another time.

  • "So we decided on North Wales for our holiday and stuck a virtual pin in the map and decided on Conwy."

We searched for cottages and saw this lovely cottage in a perfect location right next to the Harbour - beautiful views of the bay and very relaxing and incredibly quiet location. The cottage itself if perfect for two people and a fur baby. Accurately described in the main and renovated and decorated to a very good standard and comfortable and homely, the patio area could do with a bit of a revamp but to be honest with you when you have a view out of the front of bobbing boats and fishing vessels and a lovely harbour wall to sit on to enjoy the magnificent view why anyone would want to sit out the back is anyone’s guess. ( please note the accurate description of parking for one small car is correct - we have quite a large car so decided to park in the car park a 5 minute walk away for the benefit of the residents in the terrace and it wasn’t at all a hassle as the long stay car park is only £6 for 24hrs) . We must mention the bed - talk about comfortable !!! It was sooo comfortable with lovely high quality bedding. Lovely big bath sheets and a couple of hand towels and a big walk in shower in the bathroom. We didn’t do much cooking however there are plenty of plates, crockery , pans and glasses for two people. There are a few reviews that say they wouldn’t describe it as luxury and we would possibly agree as there need to be some additional touches that would step it up to luxury, however - and this is a big however - it is a gorgeous little harbour cottage that is an excellent base for exploring North Wales and we were very very happy with it. The owner was extremely friendly when we contacted him regarding key collection which is always good. So would we book this cottage again ? Absolutely! Would we recommend it to friends - definitely ! - was it a comfortable, homely base for our holiday - indeed it was ! - our first holiday away in 4 years and my husband and I had a fantastic holiday with a lovely cottage to come “home” to each evening

  • "This could be a lovely holiday cottage, it just needs a little attention to detail."

A nice location with limited parking made more difficult by the next door occupants taking two spaces plus extra visitors cars. It would have been helpful to have had a light outside the door entrance too. The view from No4’s windows is parked cars downstairs and a big tree from the bedroom. In the lounge area is a modern recessed tv (but would have been useful to have some operation instructions and also for the modern temperature controller). The low settee has lots of cushions covering the fact that it has no upholstered back support making rather uncomfortable seating, or maybe this is the latest design!? The folding tabletop was a good size but care needed in moving it as the legs were rather ‘unstable’. It was accompanied by an assortment of chairs, i.e. a pink plastic seated one plus three assorted colours folding metal chairs. The latter useful if you ventured out the back and didn’t want to risk the fragile looking rusty ones in an area that looked in need of a bit of attention, especially the toilet which, if in operation, could be quite an asset. The kitchen area has a fridge but with no freezer section, a dish washer, probably unused as the door inside was greasy and dirty and a cooker with an extractor hood covered in dust. Useful storage cabinets on the walls and a plentiful supply of utensils, crockery etc. but a good job we packed some large bin bags. The bedroom has a huge comfortable bed and built in wardrobe. The latter was also the store for ironing board, vacuum cleaner etc but left some hanging space. The shelving had to be cleared of a couple of rather dirty duvets to make extra room for clothes. However there was plenty of floor space to be able to work from our suitcases. A useful addition would be a small dressing-table. The bathroom was excellent with a walk in shower, basin and ‘low level’ toilet. Very nice luxury towels were provided but sadly the extractor did not work and the basin plug was seized open. A little attention would bring this cottage up to 4tick standards making it 5tick including location.

  • "We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cottage, which is very convenient to make the most of Conwy town and the wider area."

Overall, the cottage is small but quite well equipped. It was a little bit low on quantities of crockery and cutlery, but the owner came round to do a little bit of necessary maintenance and left plenty more after a couple of days. The owner was very friendly, helpful and very considerate. The only thing we could have done with was a cafetiere (we need our morning coffee!). We would recommend the cottage as a cosy, comfortable place to stay, though an information pack on how everything works would be useful. We would certainly stay again.

  • "Once again, very nice stay at Quayside."

Lovely location and great access to town centre. As plenty of others have said though, the cottage needs a really good deep clean. The shower head needs removing, descaling and tightening, the toilet brush needs replacing regularly etc Weird that there are 11 wine glasses but only 2 spoons! But…… this is a seriously cosy cottage - especially with the open fire (which needs a poker btw). As countless others have said - this is not a place to stay if you are planning to use your car every day. Despite what the ‘parking plan’ says - it is physically impossible for 5 normal sized cars to park on the small area outside.

  • "We have stayed in this little cottage many times and have loved it however this time it needs noting that maintenance and cleaning need addressing."

Positives - The position is fantastic. The bed is very comfortable. Negatives - We arrived and were hit with the artificial scent of a reed diffuser and a plug in air freshener. It was completely overpowering and even though we moved them both outside, this 'scent' has permeated the fabric of the cottage. We have never experienced this before in this cottage. The light to the right of the chimney breast is faulty and flickers intermittently after being on for around half an hour. We noted this to the owner last time we stayed in a written note before we left. The oven is not working properly- it needs to be turned right up to 250 to achieve the heat of around 160. This is particularly annoying when you want to cook. The reading light above the left hand side of the bed is not working - and this was so for our last visit. Also noted for the owner. The fire was cleaned but the hearth was covered in ash and soot. Probably because the cleaner doesn't have a mop either? The coal scuttle has a hole at its base which has been 'filled' but it still leaks coal dust everywhere including our dog's bed. A new one is required, Pollyfilla will not cut the mustard! There are copious glasses this time, but only a couple of wine glasses last time we were there. Now there are 4 miss matched mugs. The cutlery needs addressing, plenty of knives but lacking in spoons and forks. Frying pan, griddle pan and chopping board need throwing out, they are extremely worn and dirty. Please let me know if you would like the photos. The area around the bin has greasy marks on both the wall and the adjacent bookshelf. The sheets of the bed had been washed but had the stains of muddy paw prints. I have photo's detailing the above. The floors - Both the bathroom and kitchen area was sticky. Holiday makers cannot clean the floors properly, even if they wanted to because there is no mop. The main part of the lounge -although not sticky, it has ingrained dirt.It needs a good steam clean all over. I tried to clean the bathroom floor which has brown tiles and the kitchen roll I used was dark brown afterwards. It was as if the floor had been covered in shoe polish. Whoever the cleaner is needs re training. But the owner should be overseeing these properties and this clearly hasn't been done regularly or thoroughly. We did not contact the owner about all this whilst we were there because 'we were on holiday' and didn't need the interruption to our stay. We will choose another cottage next time.

Thank you for your feedback, as it is important that we are maintaining standards for all guests. All issues have been addressed and dealt with a total update of necessary inventory has been replaced with new products. We try to always keep the cleanliness of the property to a high standard. We would have been happy to resolve these issues during your stay, if you had informed us then we feel that we could have addressed them within 30 minutes. We hope you enjoyed your stay regardless and once again thank you for the feedback. Property Owner

  • "The cottage, is situated at the foot of the castle in Conwy."

Despite the busy roads around the village, it is quietly located in the cosy fishing village. The cottage itself, is small. Especially the dining area, which you can't actually use under the stairs, was disappointing. We had to move the table to the middle of the room to eat. The cottage was dirty and not well maintained. The bedroom is fine with a comfortable wide bed. The bathroom is nicely decorated, but a good cleaning would do the trick. In the shower, you saw clearly black mould, which is not hygienic. The sofa in the living room is old and misses the back cushion, which made it very uncomfortable. The patio, which belongs to the cottage, we could not use. It was dirty, rusty and there was a kind of shed, with a dirty old toilet. The door could not be closed. Very unhygienic. This gave us an unpleasant feeling of the cottage. In this condition, this cottage is far too expensive, and we would not recommend it to others. We hope the owner can do something with this feedback and make it a more a comfortable and clean cottage through improvement.

Also ,having asked specifically about the access before booking we were not informed about the extra difficulty now that scaffolding has been placed around the next door building. Also the alternative parking was at the harbour which understandably full of boats and tractors and therefore not easy. As a result we damaged our car which has resulted in a bill of £500. I would hate to be here in the summer. I can only imagine that the five ticks was for the location. About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
