Ellesmere 3 miles; Oswestry 5 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles.
The tiny hamlet of Welsh Frankton stands between the famous village of Whittington, the birthplace of the first Lord Mayor of London, and the delightful town of Ellesmere, which is a pretty market town with Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, found nestling between the beautiful mere (lake) and the Shropshire/Llangollen Canal, in an area known as Shropshire's Lakeland. Originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon settlement, Ellesmere is steeped in history. The town is home to the lovely Church of Saint Mary, with its 15th Century roof and Thomas Telford was based in the town while building the canal. There are a variety of shops, good pubs and restaurants and an abundance of entertainment on and around the nine lakes, which surround the town. Stroll through Cremorne Gardens, enjoy fishing and sailing or explore Colemere Country Park with its wonderful wildlife and scenic walks. As the townspeople say, there really is ‘a mere for all’!

The property was impossible to fault. Better than any 5* hotel I have stayed in.
Mr Savage, Tamworth, January 2013
It was such a cozy place with everything we could possibly need. Lovely luxurious touches like the big fluffy dressing gowns were heaven. Our two dogs loved the freedom of the 5 acre paddock and the fact that the owners were dog friendly people meant we were able to relax.
Mr Orwin, Preston, December 2012
I would recommend this log cabin to anyone who wishes to get away from the world for a peaceful break.
Mr Joyner, Luton, December 2012
I needed peace and quiet and that's exactly what I got. A very lovely cabin with great surroundings and very friendly owners. Everything was of the highest quality and the dogs loved it!
