  • "Lots of lovely details and thoughtful touches ."

The children loved the fairy lights in the bedroom. A little let down by a few maintenance issues. The two heaters in the bedrooms didn’t work. The flooring on the landing area was worn out and lifting which we tripped on several times. Ed parked near the metal gate as instructed but the local farmer asked us not to as it caused problems with his lorries . The lack of any outdoor space isn’t really made clear on the listing . Overall we enjoyed our stay. It’s a great area to explore

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

The only issue we had was drying wet clothes and towels as the radiators were not really suitable for that and there was nowhere to hang them outside.

  • "I shall start with the good things."

The beds were extremely comfortable, bedding clean. Hob clean oven could have been cleaner. No instructions on how to use them. Toilet and handbasin in bathroom clean.Cottage very close to the steam railway line. Cottage in a good location for seeing all the local spots. Anglesea was just a very short drive away. Now for the not so good things. Curb appeal not good out side of the cottage had a great big puddle you had to walk through to get to the door. Outside of the door was very dirty. On entering the cottage the door frames and the walls were very grubby. The windows were very dirty, not been cleaned in a long time. On the floor of the sitting area is a rug which is fraying and turned up at one corner a serious tripping hazard it is also becoming thread bare. On a closer look at the kitchen area things were not that good. Toaster dirty, pot that held kitchen utensils was very dirty on the outside, old food and grease all over it, looking on the inside it was discussing, filthy dirty I would hate to think what bacteria was living there. I had to wash the utensils before I could use them. Very heavy cobwebs all over the walls heavy with dust and grease, been there for a while. (not new cobwebs). The oven hood was thick with greas and dust, not been cleaned in months. Going up stairs the floor on the landing is wooden planks but they had been covered in a sticky back plastic which had started to split and the split plastic was very sharp and not good if stepped on in bare feet. Thick cobwebs covered in dust hanging from the light Main bedroom not to bad at all, just dirty windows on the inside other than that it was acceptable. Bedroom 2. Very small with a very high bed. Shelves hanging on the wall. Shelves were screwed on through a rope that held them up and the wooden shelf glued to the wall. One of the shelves had come away from the wall and could not be used. The head of the bed was right by the window. The window ledge was about 18 inched below the mattress of the bed. The window ledge was thick with dust, hair and rubbish, the windows were the dirtiest by far. Something had been splashed all down them, some white substance that had ran all down and was all over the window. Not nice at all. The venetian blinds were broken. Also the cord of the blinds were not secure to the wall and could quite easily get wrapped around a child neck. Also I do not understand the flashing christmas lights on the ceiling, someone who sufferers from light sensitive epilepsy could have a turn. Every time the light is switched on (even if you change the setting ) they come on at a fast flashing rhythm. I had to unplug it. Bathroom. The shower cubical was dirty human hair stuck on the inside of the cubical, an awful smell coming from the plug hole. On looking at the plug the waste pipe was mouldy and a black slime and hair down it. The plug itself was even worse had not been cleaned in a very long time. The smell was bad. A black waste bin was under the sink the top of it was very dusty and behind the bin was hair dust and fluff a shelf that went along the wall from the sink to the side of the toilet was also very dusty, human and dead insects along it. The bath towels are only a little bit bigger than the hand towels and would not even go around a child. Dust pan and brush, dust pan very dirty brush broken no handle. This cottage needs a deep clean to make it hygiene and bring it upto a 4 star rating. I would rate this as a 1 star This cottage could be a very nice place to stay if a lot of work was done to it. Also instruction to putting the rubbish out would be a good idea. Luckly for us the neighbours gave us the information we needed for putting out the bins for collection.

  • "We were happy with the cottage."

It was sweet and suitable for two people in a lovely location, and would be happy to return. A few things however to improve it for other visitors: 1. we could not get the TV to work - no signal. And no instructions in the manual on how to use the TV. As it happens we don't watch much TV so we were personally not so concerned about this. 2. there is no washing line available, although there is a washing machine. There is a washing line immediately outside the property but we were told by a friendly neighbour that it belonged to number 4, and we would be advised (!) not to use it. In the end the super friendly neighbour lent us a free standing washing structure to dry our clothes. 3. There were no instructions re recycling or rubbish disposal. We put the recycling out when we saw neighbours doing so, but nothing had been collected by the time we left. We were happy to help but confused as to the lack of any details. Yet to put all this in context we enjoyed our stay, appreciated the cottage and would be happy to return.

  • "The cottage was very clean, well equipped, quiet and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay here."

We couldn’t park outside the cottage but we were aware of this so parked about a minutes walk away in a small lay by near the church. Not an issue. Our only small comments would be: - there was no information provided regarding bin collection in the handbook. We would have left the bins out if we would have known the day. - The shower was a bit lack lustre so the water pressure may need adjusting. These were just small points of note for the owner, overall we would stay again as this was a lovely little cottage.

Hi Louise. Thanks for the great feedback! Regarding the bins; we have added that information in now as you're right, we forgot to tell people what to do with that - thanks for letting us know. Property Owner

  • "We were pleasantly surprised how well equipped the kitchen was and the bed was super comfortable."

Everything was clean, all appliances working, tv set up with Prime logged in and good wifi. Although we couldn’t park right outside the property, this had been clearly communicated to us beforehand so not an issue- we ended up parking about a 40 second walk away from the cottage. If we were revisiting the area we would happily rebook the cottage.

  • "I wouldn’t have classed the garden as a secure garden for a dog but it was manageable"

Hi Lacey. Thanks for your positive rating and we are really glad you enjoyed the cottage! We just wanted to point out that we didn't advertise anywhere that there is a secure garden for pets to use, although we do welcome pets at 1 Dinas it is up to the guest to ensure pets are appropriately looked after and not allowed to roam around outside without supervision. We would be happy to host you again in future so please come again! Property Owner

  • "Lovely little cottage, we had a brilliant stay."

My husband, our daughter who is 10 and our dog looked forward to getting back each day to light the fire and warm up, all amenities supplied. It was cosy and the beds were very comfortable, the cottage was close to the walks and climbs we wanted to do, especially Snowdon. We took a lovely walk to Caernafon from the cottage only 2.5 miles on foot and a 20 min walk to a small Morrisons. It was a shame there was no hot water running through the tap in the kitchen so had to boil the kettle to wash our dishes and the shower although lovely doesn't have alot of pressure. These 2 things were very minor and did not ruin our time at the cottage, we will definitely book again when we revisit.

Thanks for this feedback and we’re glad you enjoyed the stay. We had some plumbing work done the day before you arrived; it seems the plumber hadn’t turned the hot water back on in the kitchen. Apologies and had we have known someone would have been sent out immediately. Thanks again for the feedback and it’s great to know that you would stay again. Property Owner
