Kitchen utensils, layout fine. Cleaning ladies very helpful 2nd Saturday we were there. 2 large settees very very uncomfortable and smelt dreadfully on arrival. We had to give them a good spray to deplete the odours. Bed matresses very worn, need replacing. Boiler pressure needed attention 4 times during our stay. We ended up seeing to it ourselves. Main bathroom blind covered in mildew.

  • "Don't get me wrong but it's clear that this is a business in a certain transition."

The lodge was spacious and had the facilities regonised by today's traveller. The Most annoying thing was lack of hot water owing to quite clearly an ongoing boiler problem which in fairness should have been rectified prior to our stay. You also had mold and mildew on the bathroom ceiling and roller blind which also should have been dealt with... As I mentioned before...a work in progress. Apart from this,....The area was absolutely beautiful and views amazing.

The views from the property are breathtaking. It was very clean and comfortable. Being the oldest of the properties it was a bit tired in places (bathroom) but we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending or returning.

  • "The property was clean and comfortable and the views from the decking area were stunning."

The full Sky Q package was a bonus. We stayed during the heatwave in August 2022 so was glad that we read previous comments and took a fan with us as the living area got extremely hot during the day (not that we were in during the day as there is so much to explore in the surrounding area). The freezer in the adjoining shed was useful for the ice creams/ice lollies too! I pointed out a couple of lights which weren't working so hope that James has fixed those for future guests. Overall, we had a great stay at Summertime Lodge.

  • "This has been our 4th visit to Summertime Lodge and have been regular visitors since Gill was the owner."

The information on Sykes is a bit out of date. The walk in dressing room is now an en suite, and there is no longer a DVD player, but plenty to watch as owner has full Sky package, and Netflix and Prime capabilities if you are subscribed (just input your email and password). If you want to cook everything is there you really don't have to bring anything at all except mabe a paring knife if you need to peel anything as there are no small paring knives. If you don't want to cook there are lots of places to eat or order in, many deliver. James the owner was very helpful with this. He was also extremely accommodating and very helpful with everything. Nothing was too much trouble. One bit of feedback I would give would be to update the laminated information card as some info has changed. If it is going to be warm I would suggest taking a fan as the main room gets very hot in the afternoons. The view from the deck is breathtaking. It's also nice and peaceful. If you like a bit of a faster pace Llandudno and Rhyll are not very far. All in all a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend.

  • "Cosy and comfy cottage with great views and everything we needed."

Plenty of storage and comfortable beds. Kitchen facilities had everything we needed though on previous comments guests mentioned an ice box, which there wasn’t (luckily we hadn’t ordered a food shop or freezer food as we usually do when we go away). Only 10mins from the beach, lots of interesting sights close by including the ‘I’m a Celebrity Castle’ just down the road. No clear instructions about departure (ie. Bedding, towels, key). Welcome sheet mentioned about coloured waste bins but there was only a big red industrial bin inside the entrance.

  • "Summertime Lodge is situated in a idyllic countryside location, very close to the North Wales coastline and the Snowdonia mountain range and valleys."

The Lodge has spacious and very clean accommodation with a very large decked area giving elevated and glorious views over the surrounding hills and valleys. It is ideal for relaxing evenings, watching the sunset whilst enjoying the surrounding sounds of the sheep and birds. Summertime Lodge is very comfortable and well equipped, with the use of a large freezer in the adjoining shed. The owner, James and his family are very welcoming and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they went to great lengths to ensure that we had everything we needed. They are a delightful family and it was a pleasure to meet James’s 89 year young grandmother. We were extremely pleased with our stay at Summertime Lodge and look forward to a return visit.

Stunning outlook from property. Large deck on which to relax or view the farmland scenery. Much wildlife to be seen. Many walks from property and only 5 mins drive from the coast. Only 3 lodges on site, each positioned so you are totally private. Excellent stay, highly recommend.

  • "The Lodge views were stunning and the lodge living area was brilliant."

The decking and decking furniture was amazing. The rest of the lodge was tired and dated and in much need of renovation. There were multiple mouldy areas on the bathroom ceiling and bathroom blind. We had problems with the Sky, the boiler, a power cut and a dirty unusable frying pan all of which James and his family rectified extremely quickly which was great. James said he had plans to renovate the lodges next year so if this happens we would return as the location is great for exploration of the North Wales coastal region, especially Llandudno which was our favourite.

The icebox in the fridge was completely blocked with ice and looked like it had not been defrosted in weeks, it could have been a major problem if we wanted to put food in it. The property in general was very compact for four people. These things aside, the property was very clean, tidy and comfortable with very nice views and we had a great holiday walking the Wales Coast Path.

The cabin was extremely comfortable and warm, well equipped and even had Sky Q and Netflix! The view from the balcony was spectacular. We stayed in the middle cabin of a total of just 3, they have been designed so that when you are on the balcony you can’t see the balcony of either of the other 2 cabins so very private and quiet. I would definitely recommend and will be returning.

  • "We were at Summertime Lodge for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The Lodge was really comfortable and very clean throughout. We felt it was like home from home and the owners, Sharon and James, had, obviously, worked hard to make it so. They were friendly, cheerful and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The view from the decking/patio was to die for. There is nothing like seeing something like that "in person" as such - no picture can really do it justice. With the car we were able to travel easily to all the well known places of interest. We even spent a lovely day at Chester and enjoyed a short boat trip up the river Dee. Another good day out was to Llandudno - there's so much to see there. We would certainly recommend Summertime Lodge to any one looking to stay in North Wales and hope to return to the Lodge again in the not too distant future.

  • "We had a wonderful week at Summertime Lodge."

The Lodge had everything we needed fully fitted kitchen, TV with Sky Q and access to Netflix, electric fireplace and central heating for a colder weather if you need that works very fast. We slept well bed was very comfortable. The Lodge was clean nothing to complain. The view from the veranda is beautiful and I recommend to go on the mountain you can see from the veranda for more beautiful views. Close to the town Abergele and even closer to the coast. Lovely owners! On our last day James was so nice and give us a lift to the Abergele train station as we didn't travel by car that was very kind of him and we really appreciate that. If you need a quiet place to just sit and enjoy your free time looking on beautiful view or you're looking for more active holiday's with long walks this is the perfect place that combine both options. You can also visit near town of Llandudno that is also a beautiful place, even a ride in a bus was very enjoyable with all the amazing views on the villages and the coast. I think week was not enough to fully enjoy this place. Totally fell in love with Wales and the area of Rhyd-y-foel. Can't wait for another holiday in this wonderful place!

Only bad thing about it was the kitchen is so small only one adult can really fit in it at a time so it was me who had to do all the cooking etc .... my husband had a wonderful relaxing holiday!!!! Also maybe a lock on the bathroom door would be a good idea for a family with teenagers or a group of friends as the door doesnt actually close - only a minor thing for us though!!!
