  • "The cottage is beautiful."

Very clean, well presented, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, super little garden and in a great location for visiting this lovely area. One small niggle was the steepness of the stairs which we both found a bit challenging. Not a problem when you’re younger! The owners Hilary and Trevor were very helpful, on arrival there was a welcome hamper and milk in the fridge, which was appreciated. Lovely weekend, thank you

  • "The property was great for us."

Well equipped with everything we required. The property was clean and well looked after. The location of the cottage was ideal being in the town and handy for buses etc. There are numerous walks from the property which was the main reason for choosing Guisborough. Thanks Vince & Sheila

  • "Beautifully appointed cottage, and we felt immediately at home."

It was spotless clean, the beds were divine, and the hamper was a very welcome addition. Well placed for the town, and close to the many places of interest, including the coast. Lovely for our dog. The weather deprived us of using the garden on this occasion, but would look forward to using on another visit.

The cottage was immaculately clean and extremely spacious. It had everything we needed for our 4 day visit, even down to a tabletop ironing board and iron. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, but with everything you need on the doorstep, then this is the perfect property.

  • "A lovely, recently refurbished cottage, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday."

It's located relativly close to the town, and local amenities, although the road outside is quiet. Secure back garden to let the pooch outside while you are eating. Close to the coast, and several sea-side villages/towns. There is a park very close for those late night doggy walks, and a welcoming, dog friendly pub with a fire just across the road. Guisborough has some great dog friendly eateries. This property is highly recommended.

Thank you for your lovely feedback and we’re happy to hear that you had a great time. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was absolutely lovely and we had a brilliant week."

It was brand new and everything was clean and well organised. Plenty of kitchen equipment, towels, hot water, cupboard space. Dog proof garden which was a really nice private space to sit with a morning coffee or evening drink. Parking outside was fine and it's a quick easy walk into town. Perfect for 2 adults, a teenager and a very active pup. We'll definitely be back.

So lovely to hear that you had a great time and that 106 Westgate lived up to your expectations. Property Owner

About the location

GUISBOROUGH

Saltburn-by-the-Sea 6 miles; Staithes 13 miles; Whitby 21 miles.

Guisborough is an attractive market town set in rural surroundings on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Steeped in history, Guisborough is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the town's most notable feature is the beautiful ruined abbey, Gisborough Priory; standing in full glory, to its original height of 97 feet, the dramatic gothic east gable towers high over the market town and has become a well-known icon of the town. This bustling small town has twice-weekly market days, a good selection of eateries, excellent pubs and many independent shops. Around Guisborough sits the spectacular woodland of Guisborough Forest. Guisborough Forest & Walkway is situated in Pinchinthorpe on the outskirts of Guisborough at the northern end of the A173. It extends for 2.5 miles along part of the route followed by the old Guisborough Branch Railway line, heading west towards Nunthorpe, and east to Guisborough Forest, which is managed by Forest Enterprise. It is a gateway site to the North York Moors National Park and offers splendid views of Roseberry Topping to the south. Points of local interest include Highcliff Nab and Hanging Stone. Captain Cook 92s Monument is also within walking distance. The Cleveland Way and the Tees Link walks pass through Guisborough Forest, and are just two of the many walking routes easily accessible to visitors. This super country park has cycle trails, walking routes, bridleways, a trim trail and an easier sculpture trail. The park includes the Guisborough Walkway which runs along the former trackbed of the Middlesbrough to Whitby railway line. This includes a wetland area with boardwalks, woodlands and grasslands. You can also climb Highcliff Nab for fabulous views of Teeside and the coast. The park is also very popular with mountain bikers with a number of super trails to explore. There is an excellent visitor centre with full details of all the trails in the park. The long distant trail of the Cleveland Way passes close by, whilst nearby Roseberry Topping is well worth the climb to take in the spectacular views. An easy thirty minute drive brings you to the Heritage Coastline, with historic villages and resorts, including Staithes, Saltburn and Whitby to enjoy.
