    • “Tardis like cottage in a great location”

    • “Loved my stay here. From the outside the cottage looks deceptively small, but the living space, kitchen and bedroom are great. The bathroom is a little cramped, but the shower works well, so no matter. Location is great - outside the hustle and bustle of York, but still easy to reach the centre. Well equiped, nicely decorated, comfortable furniture. Friendly, but non-intrusive owners next door.”

    • “The cottage was immaculate, and had everything for a perfect break. Beautful views in a lovely Yorkshire village, but very easy to travel to York, North Yorkshire moors, and the coast to Scarborough/Whitby. Owners live next door and were very friendly and welcoming, but did not intrude on your privacy. Would definitely stay in this cottage again.”

    • “The cottage was easy to find, very clean. Lots of information about things to do in the area. Very quiet. Plenty of crockery etc.Very cosy, although could have done with different heating as the bedroom could get cold, so a small heater might have helped. Would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others”

    • “It was beautiful and just right for the 2 of us.”

    • “The cottage was a nice surprise when we got there, and the directions were easy to follow. It was very compact - everything you could possibly wish for from the biggest to the smallest item!! It was comfortable, the view was lovely over the fields at the back of the house. The only comment I have is that the shower room could have been a bit bigger, but was adequate. We were going to a photographic forum at York racecourse so the location was ideal, there were plenty of places to eat and drink and a lovely pub at the bottom of the road! I would definitely recommend this property and the owner introduced himself to us, but did not intrude but just said that if there was anything we needed let him know. Would use it again without a doubt.”

    • “This comfortable and well appointed cottage is close to York yet in a rural setting. All the amenities are new, smart, functional and comfortable. We stayed to be close to our son at York University and explore the city's history and heritage, for which the cottage proved to be an ideal base. The owners were kind, considerate and welcoming, making us feel like friends. We very much hope to stay there again.”

About the location

Harrogate 24 miles; Leeds 30 miles.

The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker: the Minster, its medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums (including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and its "time trip" experience. Summer and winter, there is something to fascinate the whole family. Explore York’s quaint streets and hidden corners, or take an excursion further afield to the Dales, Moors or the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. Yorkshire is rich in stately homes, with Harewood House and Castle Howard just two of several within an hour’s drive. A cycling city boasting two theatres, character pubs and great shopping, York has it all.
