  • "We had a really good stay at Hawthorn."

Considering the very changeable weather, I think we did justice to the Yorkshire Dales, and went on some memorable hikes. The cottage is warm, cosy and well equipped. We had an initial problem with the heating, this was very quickly resolved after contacting the owner. The village of Farnhill is superbly situated for local walks along the canal and the Jubilee beacon, as well as being a short drive from all that the area has to offer.

  • "Just returned home after 5 nights from the lovely Hawthorn cottage in Farnhill ."

We have to say it is one of the best we have stayed in . The cottage is lovely ,clean and very comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing stay . There is lots of walks around the cottage plus the bonus of the canal less then 100 metres from the cottage. A nice pub and little cafe just the other side of the canal . Will return to the cottage again for sure .

  • "A perfect little cottage that was close to the canal."

We had some lovely strolls right on the doorstep. Plenty of kitchen utensils that were in great condition. There was a minor problem which we addressed directly with the owner. Quick response. A little note for other dog owners to make sure that their pets don’t have “little visitors “ as we were bitten. This is not the property owner’s fault as the cleaning standard was excellent . Would definitely stay again.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. To help us improve for future guests, could you please let us know what knocked us down on “accuracy of listing” and “comfort”? Many thanks Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and it was situated in a location convenient for using the Liverpool Leeds canal."

There was a draw back for elderly people or people with mobility issues in that the stair was quite steep and the bath was difficult to get in and out of. However the stairs were shown in the description of the cottage so people know the situation in advance. All in all we were delighted with our stay there.

  • "Excellent cottage."

Very clean, comfortable & had everything we needed. Great location for exploring. Parking was easy on the street outside. Short walk along the canal to a friendly pub serving food. One tiny thing for us was getting in and out of the shower which is over a tall free standing bath. Being a but older with bad knees we would of preferred a walk in shower. Just something to consider but don't let it put you off it's a beautiful cottage.

  • "The cottage was lovely and really well equipped, very comfortable and newly refurbished."

We had a BIG problem with the instructions for the key safe not telling us where it is, so we had to call Sykes out of hours service quite late on the day of our arrival to find it. We have already fed back to everyone that there needs to be proper instructions in the email!
