  • "Lovely property in centre of the attractive village of Gainford."

The property is well equipped with all the things you might possibly want on a holiday. Owners live in the adjacent property and are readily available for help and advice if required. Plenty of safe parking space. Although beds were very comfortable, the double bed is relatively low and - some may find it difficult to get back up again! Apart from that minor issue, the property is comfortable and was beautifully clean on arrival. It is set in an ideal location for visiting lower Teesdale. I am sure we will be back again.

  • "Fantastic property, which contains everything you will need to have a comfortable, relaxing holiday."

Good communication from owners leading up to us arriving. Helen lives in the adjoining property so is on hand if you need help with anything. Barn House Mews was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and is really well equipped. Good location for drives out to the coast/Barnard Castle/inland walks etc. There are some nice riverside walks which can be started just a couple of minutes away. We loved every minute of our holiday, and have no hesitation in recommending BHM. We will definitely be returning.

  • "Barn House Mews was lovely."

Everything was clean, comfortable and of the highest quality. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. There were lots of books and information about the surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay immensely and it was the perfect location for our walks. Gainford was a quiet village with one pub that didn’t serve food, so if you want a bit more life this may not be the place for you.

  • "Such a lovely property and lady who runs the house."

Stayed there with my sister and our children for a quick break away. A little quiet for young children, but the major towns had plenty of entertainment and only a 15min drive away. Floor boards a little creaky when navigating getting to rooms once the children were asleep but every other box utterly ticked.
