    • “Perfect, relaxing break in peaceful surroundings.”

    • “Great property, lovely area. Arrived to a delicious cake and milk in the fridge, how thoughtful! (it's the little things that count). The enclosed garden made for a great break for Soco (my dog) and plenty of walking areas around, with Stamford Bridge a 5 minute drive. The owners were very helpful and friendly along with Gyll, their very well behaved and friendly dog. I would return and would definitely tell my friends and family about this property.”

    • “Lovely peaceful location. Enjoyed the fact the garden was totally enclosed and private. The property was tastefully decorated and furnished, and very comfortable. Not too far from York and other attractions.”

    • “Holiday perfection in beautiful countryside - a treat for the Aussies”

    • “We stayed at the recently renovated Barn this July and had a wonderful stay. The owners have put in EVERYTHING you'd possibly need for a home from home experience but with that awesome 'holiday feeling' thrown in! Ref 21068 (The Studio) adjoins the property and can be used to accommodate bigger groups who want to be together but separate! The Studio also has disabled access. We had THE BEST time here and enjoyed the real countryside feel ... sipping wine in the sunshine in the back garden while the tractors go about their business gives a real feelgood factor! Can't wait to come back from Australia to stay again next time we're in UK. Thanks guys!”

About the location

York 8.5 miles.

Stamford Bridge, as its name suggests, was a fording point over the River Derwent for a Roman settlement. Nowadays, it is a village with a selection of shops and restaurants and is notable for a renovated railway viaduct, which is now used as a cycle and public footpath. The village is well known as the site of the Battle of Stamford Bridge on 25th September 1066, which marked the end of the Viking era in Britain. Within easy reach are the pretty Yorkshire market towns of Malton, Beverley and Driffield and within an hour’s drive is the unspoilt coastal resort of Filey with open beaches and the nearby RSPB nature reserve at Bempton.
