  • "This cottage was absolutely lovely, immaculately clean, so thoughtfully furnished and in a perfect location in the High St."

Parking was easy and big, no squeezing into a tiny space such as you often get with 'designated parking'. I have never seen so much cutlery and crockery before in a holiday cottage and the bonus was that from plates to egg cups it was all wonderful Portmeirion botanic! The bedrooms are big and the beds super comfy. The shower was great as well and our grandsons loved the 'secret' loo under the stairs. In all, a fabulous place and for us it is a 'must return' option for when we are visiting the family.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a perfect review. It is really appreciated to receive acknowledgment of the thought and care put in to make No 76 a 'home from home' experience for all our guests and visitors .We look forward to welcoming you back. Thank you. Best wishes, Louise Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our time at No 76."

The property was exactly as advertised, very clean and tidy, and very comprehensive kitchen equipment which pleased the chef in our group.Convenient for pubs and local shopping, the pies from the butcher down the road are to be recommended. Close to magnificent beaches too. We would have no hesitation in recommending No 76 to others - we may even come again. Ann and John

Thank you so much for your review. Totally agree with your comment on pies best I have ever tasted. Hope to welcome you back to No76 in the future. Best wishes, Louise Property Owner

  • "This property is beautifully refurbished and very spacious, with 2 places to sit outside as well."

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great - only a short walk to the beach at Marske and you can join the coastal footpath to head off to Saltburn and beyond. It was great to use the bus to get to Whitby - an amazing coastal route, and we also used the train to get to the city centre in Middlesbrough. Bus stop, railway station and food shops are very nearby. Thank you for a great stay.

Thank you for your kind and generous review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay and exploration of the area.We hope to welcomeyou back in the future.Kind regards.Louise.(joint owner) Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time at Number 76."

Nice property and great location. We wondered if it might be a bit noisy with the house on the high street but with the windows closed we couldn't hear any noise at all. It was a good base for exploring the area and we found lots of fossils on the beach up the road.

Thank you for the lovely review.Pleased you found some fossils at Marske. If of interest for the future best places for fossil hunting are between States and Robin Hood's Bay all within reasonable distance of No 76 by car.Kind regards Louise (Joint owner) Property Owner

  • "Everything was excellent with no76 and we had a great five days."

Only only small gripe, the smell in the hallway…cats pee ! Only assuming one got in prior to our visit. The car park space was very tight to manoeuvre, good job I only drive a Mini. But it is what it is, expect someone with a long car would struggle is adjacent spot has a car in it, which it did during our stay, that didn’t move.

It was a pleasure to speak to you and thank you for all your compliments regarding the facilities, cleanliness and presentation of No 76. I am delighted to hear you hope to revisit in the future. As you telephoned on arrival, I am so sorry you didn't contact us again to notify of the unpleasant smell restricted to the hallway, which you describe as cat's pee. Our guests comfort is of the utmost importance to us and whilst we are unable to deal with the practical day to day issues we have local family literally 100 yards away in both directions willing to assist. Unfortunately it remains a mystery as my current guests have confirmed there are no unpleasant smells in the hallway. As far as I am aware there are no cats in the immediate vicinity and the property is and has been pet free for many years. The property was cleaned two hours before your arrival and I have asked my housekeeping team to be extra vigilant in future. Regarding the car parking; as you say there is a car park opposite where manoeuvrability is much easier. We do happen to have a much longer car than a Mini but as you and I agreed it gets easier with practice .There are two car spaces at the cottage but we only advertise as one to allow for manoeuvring. Unfortunately on this occasion a Nissan Micra, belonging to my family, was parked in the adjacent space and had a flat battery hence the reason it didn't move during your stay. The Micra has since been removed. We look forward to welcoming you at No76 in the future. Property Owner
