  • "A lovely cottage."

Very clean and well equipped. In a lovely area for walking and sightseeing. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. Vicky extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again. TV package was brilliant.

  • "This was probably the cleanest cottage we've ever stayed in and considering the number we've been to that's saying a lot!"

Vicky had left us some very nice goodies so thanks for that. The location is good for walking into Ripon and excellent for driving elsewhere. For us the only downside to Honeybee Cottage is the very steep driveway that you share with your neighbours so it gets our recommendation.

  • "A real "Home from Home"."

From when we walked in the door it felt like we were at home. It was a beautifully decorated and appointed cottage, with everything you would been for a stay away from home. This included a wonderful welcome pack, that thought had clearly gone into. The great experience did not stop on departure.. I left something behind in the cottage and the owners went above and beyond to ensure I got it back, in a timely manner. So I do not have any recommendations for improvement, but would like to say a massive Thank You !!

  • "Honeybee is a delightful cottage in a lovely location overlooking the River Ure."

The cottage is warm and welcoming with lovely touches relating to its name. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances which are straightforward to use and the lounge is very comfortable. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and the bathroom has a good sized shower. Great parking outside the house. We enjoyed the easy walk into Ripon and the interesting walks which we were able to do from the door. We will definitely return to this cottage.

  • "Honeybee Cottage was the perfect haven while we moved house."

Beautifully clean and it was well stocked with everything you could need to make the stay easy and very comfortable. The welcome pack was a wonderful surprise too, great after a long journey it set you up with a nice cup of tea and snack. The home owner Vicky was really helpful and accommodating and we were really grateful for the text reminder for the refuse calendar over Christmas, it was great to see a house manual with such good instructions included too, no scratching your head wondering how anything worked. The cottage is in a great location overlooking the River Ure with a good walk in to town. Ripon itself has easy access to all routes and well covered on the shopping front. Booths supermarket is a particular treat and there are some lovely small independent shops. The Cathedral is glorious and further afield The Druids Temple was surrounded by great woodland walks and views out over the surrounding countryside. I wish we had had more time in better weather to explore further as the cottage make a great base to head out from but we’ll have to leave that for another time.

Thank you for your lovely comments and for leaving the cottage ‘spick and span’. It is a lovely area, so pleased you had time to explore and enjoy. I’d like to wish you both much fun, laughter and happiness in your new home. Vicky Property Owner

Messages from the owner were really clear and it was easy to find. The extra touches like a tray of goodies on arrival, coffee pods, milk in the fridge and logs for the fire absolutely made it for us.

It was very clean and comfortable as well as being close to the town of Ripon (only a 20min walk) but with the feeling of being in the country. Vicky was a great host who ensured the property contained everything needed to ensure we had a great stay. (We are on holidays from Australia and it felt like a home away from home and we very much appreciated her welcome package).

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were there without a car, walking from and to the town centre takes about 20 minutes, so manageable. We went on excursions to Harrogate, Knaresborough and Fountain's Abbey by bus, but also went on walks around Ripon, which is a pleasant town, inhabited by pleasant people.

I am pleased you enjoyed the cottage and what Ripon and the surrounding area has to offer. Thanks Again Property Owner

  • "The property has a shared back yard with the adjoining neighbours perhaps this should be on the property details when booking, We felt uncomfortable with this as the neighbours seemed resentful of our presence."

The drive is difficult for two cars as you have to park very near to the house which makes it hard for the driver to get out. The second bedroom has no clothes hanging facilities or mirror which would be ok for one night but we had four. The view from the location is lovely over the fields and it very quiet with just a few dog walkers passing.

Thank you for your comments which I found really useful. Since your visit the back yard has been divided by a fence from the neighbours although they do still have right of access through. If you reverse on to the drive it gives the driver easy access from the car. I have fitted a mirror to the second bedroom and there is a large chest of drawers, unfortunately there is not room for a wardrobe but there are three large hanging spaces in the main bedroom. Thanks again and I hope you enjoyed Ripon. Property Owner

Easy parking. The decor was good with good quality furniture etc. It was an easy walk into town where there are lots of shops and cafes. There would have been lots of walks along the river had the weather been better. We had 3 friends round for lunch one day. It was a bit squashed but we managed and there were plenty of dishes, plates etc. We would highly recommend this cottage

  • "The property is lovely and has a lovely view."

The kitchen is very small and the bench at the table caused many stubbed toes. Perhaps a small stool for a third seat at the table would help with that. It would have been useful to let us know that the key safe was at the back of the property as it was dark when we arrived. No details about rubbish and recycling were left for us. Always happy to recycle if instructions left. The parking is on a very steep slope. It was a little difficult to get out of the car on the drive. There is parking on the road but a bit of a squeeze. Location is good. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback Linda, The location of the key safe was on the arrival email sent prior to your arrival but I'm always happy to help with any queries via telephone call. This wonderfully presented, terraced house benefits from off-road parking for two cars, is dog friendly with miles of beautiful country and river walks from the doorstep and is within driving distance of the city’s attractions; making it the perfect setting for a family of three or couples seeking a getaway in North Yorkshire.

Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and settle down in front of the TV on the comfortable reclining sofa and chair, while the designated chef finds their way around the fully-equipped kitchen.

Gather around the dining table and tuck into a delicious meal before stepping outside to soak up the last of the sun in your private garden with a glass of wine in hand.

When the sky darkens, head upstairs for some well-earned rest, tuck your children into the small double bedroom before retiring to the double bedroom; both rooms are serviced by a sleek family shower room.

Honeybee Cottage lies a short walk away from the local store where you can ease your self-catered stay, or head into the centre of Ripon where you can treat your loved ones to a special meal at The Royal Oak or Storehouse Bar and Eatery.

The city houses Ripon Cathedral, an impressive medieval building with historic Saxon crypt that is open to the public, you could also tour the Courthouse Museum or Prison and Police Museum which displays exhibits and provides historic reenactments.

Fishing is a short walk away to the river or less than 100 metres to a fishing lake (permits can be bought locally).

Guests looking to experience the outdoors can take leisurely strolls around Ripon Spa Gardens which hosts a variety of concerts throughout the year, or amble alongside the canal; if you time your visit right you could delight in a day out at Ripon Races!

Venture to the historic town of Harrogate, home to the Great Yorkshire Show and the famous Betty's Café Tea Rooms, a fabulous place to indulge in traditional afternoon tea.

Wetherby, Knarsborough and the vivid city of Leeds lie slightly further afield but all provide an array of must-see attractions.
