Featured in TV’s ‘Monarch of the Glen’, the village and its surroundings offer plentiful opportunities for exploring the tranquil countryside and its wide variety of wildlife such as golden eagles, osprey and red deer. Just 8 miles away is Newtonmore, which overlooks the River Spey in the Cairngorms National Park, boasting several shops and pubs as well as the Newtonmore Craft Centre and two award-winning museums. The area offers fine golf, fishing, pony trekking, walking, bird-watching, climbing, skiing and cycling, with the Laggan Wolftrax mountain bike centre close by. An ideal base from which to discover all that this scenic part of Scotland has to offer.

The Property

Laggan 7 miles. A fully renovated, detached property situated in a magnificently isolated position, 7 miles from the rural village of Laggan, in the Cairngorms National Park. Offering well-equipped, tastefully furnished accommodation of a high standard, this Scotland cottage is light and airy, with a woodburner in the comfy sitting room, and patio doors from the kitchen/diner on to a decked area and country-style garden. The area is wonderful for outdoor pursuits, with much to do at all times of the year including mountain biking (the Wolftrax mountain bike trail is close by), hill walking, climbing and skiing, with ample opportunity to see a variety of wildlife. The dramatic views of Loch Laggan, or the museums, shops and pubs of Newtonmore are within easy reach, and the area itself was the setting for the television series 'Monarch of the Glen'. A wonderful area to explore, and a fantastic cottage for relaxing in splendid isolation.
