  • "Fabulous holiday home."

In fact the photos on the website don't do it justice. Really well equipped house and very comfy beds. Also very clean and fresh, wouldn't have known dogs had stayed there before us. Loved the open plan layout and the little "room" before the utility was ideal for our dog to sleep in at night. Ideally located to enjoy all the delights Bamburgh has to offer. Only small niggles were the fire is a bit temperamental although thankfully stayed lit for the power cut on Easter Saturday which affected the entire village. The locks on the loo and bathroom can actually lock you out which happened with the downstairs loo but thankfully managed to sort it through the open window. Glad it wasn't the bathroom! Also we all found the duvets extremely warm. However we wouldn't hesitate to return and we'll certainly recommend this house to our family and friends. Thank you very much for the lovely welcome pack of Easter goodies. It was much appreciated.

  • "The property was beautifully presented and we were welcomed with a very generous Christmas hamper."

The location right in the village is perfect for dog walks and enjoying Bamburgh's bars, restaurants and of course majestic views. A great place to stay. Our thanks once again to the owners.

  • "Lovely stay here, i was impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the property, it was as i would expect it to be."

The welcome pack was a nice touch and we would definitely stay here again. The gas fire did only stay on 5 minutes then time out so that would need addressing as does the detachable shower head in the shower as that was hanging off. I know the owners were a bit dubious about Dachshund's so i hope any fears they had regarding chewing etc have been reassured by our fabulously behaved and well trained little ones.(Also they are too short to jump up on furniture or go upstairs so added bonus).

Friendly neighbours. Did have problems with the fire even after following instructions but would book this house again. House reasonably priced booking fees etc from Sykes expensive.

  • "Beautiful house, perfect for us, in a lovely quiet area."

Comfortable lounge and plenty of room in all the house. Loved the welcome biscuits, snacks and treats. Everything was clean and well looked after. Location was fabulous for the beach and castle and all that Bamburgh has to offer. Definitely recommended

  • "Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home we throughly enjoyed our visit."

The living areas and bedrooms were well decorated and beds comfortable. Lots of drawer space in all rooms. (Single wardrobe in the double room would be a bonus) The location was excellent and having parking for two cars was a bonus. We would definitely stay again. The only reason for maintenance being marked down a little was, there are a few badly chipped dinner plates we were able to work round this as there were only four of us. Overall a fantastic experience and we would 100% recommend your property to a friend. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and very much appreciated.

  • "Generally very good, we enjoyed our stay & were very happy with most things about the house."

We were though disappointed with the following:- Inadequate curtains/blinds so that at 0500 the bedrooms were flooded with light. Quilts were a bit on the heavy side which meant we were a bit too hot, better to add a blanket rather than try to cool down. Exact number of wine glasses, mugs, etc, there should be an oversupply. We were disappointed with the rear outside seating area which we didn't really use, we saw the photos & it just looked a bit bigger & more accessible. Overall though we were pretty happy with our choice

  • "Beautiful house in a perfect location."

The house felt bigger than the pictures do it justice - there were 5 of us staying and a dog but it never felt cramped. Great washing room and the garage was really useful as and entrance after a sandy day at the beach! Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home. From the Harrod’s x

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
