Sue was on hand to show us where everything was which was great.
Lovely and relaxing - felt like a home from home settled in immediately. Excellent base for exploring Northumberland coast. Also ideally place for trip to Edinburgh by train.
Would definitely recommend this - excellent hosts and will return

"Everything was as described."
It would have been lovely to have had a welcome pack ie tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter and when ringing the owners about key collection, for them to ask what we would like in the pack, but this is only a minor matter. We did receive a lovely bottle of wine and some flowers. Can't wait to go back in March for my husband's birthday treat and booking again for October before all the dates go. The cottage was so warm and great to have a clean cooker as some places we have been to I have had to start cleaning. A warmer duvet might be needed in Winter but the bed was very comfortable. Well done the owners

"What a perfect cottage!"
Absolutely everything you need, plus comfort and style. The owners are lovely, and we had flowers and wine waiting, on our arrival. This is a beautiful part of the country, and we were ideally placed for exploring. We don't drive, but there is a good bus and train network from Alnmouth itself. Would definitely come back again.

There was everything we needed and more provided in the cottage for our holiday, all the appliances where good quality, every thing was clean and fresh and the whole experience was one to make us look back on this holiday as one of the best cottage holidays we have ever had.

"Lovely holiday cottage next to the owner’s home on the outskirts of Lesbury."
The cottage front has a patio with planters and looks across fields. There is also a lawn to the side. Patio doors open on to the garden and the views beyond. Inside, all the furniture, kitchen and bathroom etc. are modern. The owners were very welcoming and have provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. We would certainly use Plumtree Cottage again.

"We have stayed at a number of Sykes Holiday Cottages but this is the best by far."
In a beautiful setting overlooking open countryside, with many places of interest in either a short walk or a few miles drive away.
The interior of Plumtree cottage is tastefully decorated and has everything that you could possibly need for a restful holiday. Sue and Richard are wonderful hosts nothing too much trouble for them. What a lovely touch a bottle of wine and fresh flowers to welcome you. We can't wait for our next visit. Jean & Terry

"We really enjoyed our week stay here."
The cottage had everything we needed. The outdoor area is really lovely with views over a huge field of rabbits, hares and lapwings. Managed to sit out for a sunny breakfast once but would have done lots more if the weather was better. Great location for visiting places. A lot to do within 20 mins drive. Nice walk to Alnmouth where there are some nice little shops and some good eateries.

A brilliant base to explore the beautiful coastline and countryside. We would definitely recommend the cottage. It is very well equipped, clean, comfortable, cosy and warm. The information booklet was very useful. There are plenty of lovely pubs and restaurants in the area, we tried several and thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to Sue and Richard, who were so nice, the wine, flowers and card, was a really lovely touch. We would love to return if we are back in the area.

Excellent location between Alnmouth and Alnwick. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very quiet and private. The visitors book showed most people had stayed on two occasions or more and we can thoroughly understand why. We hope that we can stay again ourselves in the future.

It is extremely well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and you could not ask for better hosts. The surroundings are private and peaceful and the only noise is the sound of the trains going by behind the cottage.. For us, this was in fact an added bonus. It is without doubt one of our favourite places to stay for a relaxing, stress-free holiday in the best county in England, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

It was ideally situated in the country but only minutes from Alnwick ( nice market town) and minutes from the sea (both by car). We loved it! There were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival which is a nice gesture and very much appreciated.
