  • "Apart from a little hiccup with the central heating not working and arriving to an exceptionally cold house, we were pretty soon equipped with oil radiators which absolutely did the trick."

Everyone was exceptionally helpful cannot fault the service given. The cottage is set in a beautiful location very quiet and 2 mins from Seahouses, 3 minutes from Bamburgh, lovely welcome pack from the owners cottage very cosy, with everything you could possibly need to live very comfortable. Home from home. Would recommend this cottage as said at the beginning only hiccup no central heating so was a bit dissapointed to arrive late in the day to a freezing cold house but Mike the maintenance man and the two ladies who came the day after to see if we were coping was so helpful and a big thank you to them for going that extra mile to make it a good holiday. I have to say we was offered other accommodation but the cottage was so lovely and the heaters Mike brought worked a treat so no we didn't take up the offer of other accommodation as the place was just so lovely

  • "Thank you for making arrangements for changing the bed sheet and pillows in the top bunk bed."

We enjoyed our stay and the welcome pack and wine was great. The pictures do not do the cottage justice in terms of surroundings. It was much more than what we expected. Feedback based on our stay: 1) The toilet bin lid was broken when we arrived and the toothbrush holder was not working properly. 2) The were mice running in the attic all night which made it difficult to sleep, I totally understand it’s a converted barn and mice will always make their way into an old building, but it’s not great when you are a light sleeper 3) The lack of an actual clothes line or rotary line was frustrating when we wanted to reuse our bath towels and costumes. The drier was unable to take more than one towel at a time to dry and it wasn’t economical to use. 4) The doors in the sitting room were too stiff to open onto the small seating area 5) The toilet button stuck several times but bounced back again after a while 6) We were thrilled to have been able to use the tennis court 7) The directions to the cottage were difficult to follow after we took the road off Broad Street. The directions should have read take the first right as the directions which we followed led us to Elford Farm. We did not follow the postcode as you advised. And coming from Seahouses we always ended up arriving back at the cottage and owners house on the right not left.

The area was extremely scenic and we will definitely return. The Locals were very friendly and there were lots of good places to eat in both Seahouses and Bamburgh.

  • "We had a lovely relaxing stay at Harness Lodge."

The property was spacious, clean and very well equipped. The only downside was the noisy extractor in the bathroom.

Hi Diane - thanks for your comments and we will have the fan checked Cheers Property Owner
