  • "Fantastic set up; everything we needed and very comfortable."

Think the change of hour had not been caught for the boiler as we struggled for hot water if we were up early (before 8am) but the water was otherwise piping hot! Also, small thing, consider putting the TV on an arm rather than fixed to the wall so it can be seen from the second sofa. It is worth mentioning in your write up about the property and surrounding area that there are 4 council operated EV chargers about 300 yds from the property and were perfect for our needs whilst we were away - extremely convenient and relatively economical from the usual public charging rates. Greys Inn nearby very welcoming and where the locals go. Beach is very clean and expansive. Great time had by all.

  • "Barmoor exceeded our expectations , the location was great, having a view across fields and on the edge of the village but within a two minute walk to either the village pub or hotel , and less than 10 minutes onto the beach."

It had everything required for our stay , good heating , TV, fully equipped kitchen . The bathroom is large with a good shower and separate bath . Living room is a good size with comfy sofas .

! Tile grouting and seals in shower cubicle are dirty, making having a shower not nice. Windows needed washed, I could go on but it won’t get me anywhere!

  • "We holiday."

In Northumberland at least twice a year and Embleton is by far our favourite place to base ourselves, great walks and places to eat right on the doorstep. Barmoor is a great cottage, well equipped ,really clean a great secure garden for our dog. It was extremely cold with lots of snow while we were there and the log burner was so welcome. Has a great bathroom and very comfortable beds, if there’s anything I would change it would be the sofas as they’re not the comfiest but that definitely wouldn’t stop us returning to Barmoor. A real gem of a cottage and would highly recommend.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Barmoor."

The house is a home from home and so clean and welcoming. In a great location, close to Dunstanburgh Hotel where we had a lovely meal. Recommend booking a table here especially if a dog owner. A 5 minute walk to The Greys Inn, with a very welcoming landlady. A lovely local pub and amazing food. Embleton Bay is a 15 minute walk away to a beautiful beach, where you can walk to Low Newton by Sea and visit The Ship Inn and just sit outside and watch the world go by. The house was perfect for us and we will definitely be returning.

  • "We found Barmoor to be very clean, cosy and comfortable."

The beds were great too, so we slept well. It is well equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, but also very close to good dining options (a few minutes walk away), so you have the best of both worlds. We ate at both the local hotel and the pub, and found them to be excellent. Barmoor is convenient for the village and the amazing beach at Embleton (our lab had a brilliant time too!). It is also well placed to easily access the other wonderful places on the coast, as well as lovely towns like Alnwick. We definitely recommend this holiday cottage, and would book again if we return to the area. Our week was for a small family get-together. We had a fantastic time. Thank you!

  • "Barmoor is in a lovely village, not far to walk to Embleton Beach, past a golf course, and lovely view of Dunstanburgh Castle."

There's a shop, garage and two pubs. Not far to travel to other places nearby. The house was clean and tidy and nicely decorated. The beds were all comfy, including the double, but the settees although looked modern were a bit hard and not easy to relax in. Unfortunately the previous guests didn't clear their dog mess from garden and thought maybe the cleaner/gardener could have cleared this before we arrived. Don't expect a welcome pack either, we thought maybe a pint of milk and biscuits would have been a nice touch and would only cost a couple of quid, especially when the rental is such a lot in August!!

  • "A great cottage with all the facilities you need for a smooth stay: plenty of utensils in the kitchen, a great information pack, comfy beds and a hairdryer."

Embleton is a lovely quiet village with a super village shop, a couple of great dog friendly pubs and is a good base for all parts of the Northumberland coastline.

  • "Excellent stay at Barmoor, house was well equipped, very clean and comfortable, couldn’t fault it at all."

Very pleased that there was extra netting on the bottom of the drive gates that kept the garden secure for our two mini dachshunds. Embleton is ideally placed for exploring other nearby coastal villages and excellent food can be had at The Greys and the Dunstaburgh Hotel. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Barmoor continues to be a secret gem by the sea."

It's relaxed, unpretentious decor, with all the practical things you need, mean you immediately chill on holiday. Beds and linen are very comfortable. Occupying a quiet location in Embleton village allows for a sense of privacy, yet with a short stroll to lovely pubs and restaurants.

  • "We really loved the cottage size and the equipment in the kitchen."

We were pleased that we had a spare room as the double bed mattress was so uncomfortable, the springs were noisy and we woke several times in the nights we slept in it. A foam mattresses topper would have made a big difference if this is a temporary thing while you wait for a new mattress. The twin bed mattresses were better than that one but still not as I would expect for this price rental. Also, for a couple to have to sleep in single beds for most of our holiday was very far from good. You can put up with a couple of nights discomfort in an average hotel bed, but 7 nights, it’s just not possible. It is a dog friendly house, but without an external hose it was quite difficult and frustrating to get the dog washed off after the many walks we enjoyed. Also, with kids in tow we would have expected a smart TV, they are cheap and offer some calm after a day out and about, especially as the bbc children’s channels are no longer available without this. We loved feeding the birds and doing the kids puzzle and everything else about the house. But sleep and comfortable beds are a must have when away so this would be something I would urge you to look at.
