  • "We arrived at 4pm as required to find that there was NO heating on in the property - it was 6."

6 degrees in the property which is totally unacceptable on a winters evening. It took hours to get the place warmed up and we should not have had to sit in our coats in the meantime. I find it hard to believe that nobody could have popped in a couple of hours before our arrival and switched on the various heaters. That aside, once the cottage was heated, it was lovely and we had a lovely break.

We always try to ensure that our guests arrive to a warm cottage. I am so sorry that this was not the case for you. Thank you for letting us know. Our housekeeper had been in to check that the cottage was ‘guest ready’ and to switch on the heating earlier in the day, but fears that she must not have adjusted the thermostat correctly on this occasion. We hope that you were able to enjoy your stay and that you will come again. Wishing you a happy new year. Kind regards, Heidi and Jo. Property Owner

The views from the lounge are stunning and the proximity to the village's facilities makes this a perfect holiday location.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks, We wish you all of the best for the new year and hope you will come again. Kind regards, Heidi and Jo. Property Owner

  • "This is a fabulous property in a fabulous position."

Owners have gone to a lot of effort to keep a high standard of decoration, & with many lovely small details, throughout the accommodation. The description of the Links View property as "top quality" is accurate unlike some of the other properties in this area that we have had the misfortune to stay in where the reality falls way short of their description. This experience of properties ranging from really lovely (like LinksView) to not at all lovely but with similar descriptions on the NCC website makes it very difficult to chose holiday properties & even to trust the listings. We love Links View & thank the owners for taking such trouble to keep their property up to this standard.

  • "Lovely holiday, always enjoy Embleton - third stay at the property - though on this occasion disappointed to find letter box hanging off front door on arrival and a chair on the balcony was broken and became un-usable by middle of the week."

House keeper and owner both informed. More disappointed to see however that the cost of the same seven night holiday stay has increased by over 20% for 2024.

The property

Settled into the picturesque seaside village of Embleton, Links View is a wonderful architect-built property with accommodation ideal for a family or group of adults looking for a Northumbrian seaside getaway.

Set over a single-storey with split-levels, you will find the spacious open-plan living area on the highest of the levels, sporting tall ceilings with wood panelling, skylights allowing in seas of natural light and wooden flooring.

Begin your day with a coffee in the stylish sitting area, where two large leather sofas rest beside a TV and extensive windows and a glass door, offering views of the local farmland and countryside, and from here you can access the garden and enjoy a glass of your favourite beverage in the fresh air as the sun sets.

Behind the sitting area there is an amply fitted kitchen with contemporary white tiles and enough space for guests to cook together, so enjoy your meal beneath the wooden roof and skylights at the dining table.

Ascend a selection of steps to find a bathroom where you can enjoy a refreshing shower after a day spent out in the countryside.

From here you will find several more steps leading down to three bedrooms, a double with blue décor, a single and a second single with a pull-out bed and access to the garden through patio doors.

Embleton is a scenic seaside town with loads of attractions and amenities on offer for guest, including a selection of tasty eateries and local shops in the town centre where you can enjoy a hot meal after spending the day at the fantastic sandy beach, ideal for watersports, wild swimming or walking, or visiting Embleton Quarry Nature Reserve.

From here you can try out a game at golf at Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club and visit the ruins of the castle itself, maybe even trying out the scenic Dunstanburgh Castle Walk which leads to the town of Craster where there are more eateries, shops, countryside walks and coastal scenery.

About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
