The property

Golden Fleece Cottage is a charming bungalow, nestled in the scenic village of Lowick, Northumberland.

Just moments away from local amenities, Golden Fleece Cottage is perfect for those who are looking for a homely abode, resting within distance of both the Northumberland coast and countryside.

Park up to the roadside and step indoors, firstly meeting with the open-plan living space, where you can prepare home cooked meals, dine as a four, and gather after a day of adventure, with plush sofas to sink into.

Continue down to the bathroom, where you can relax with a warm bath or refresh with a shower, before sloping off to sleep in either the double or bunk rooms, both complete with plenty of storage to make yourself at home.

Once you’re ready to explore the village you’ll locate a convenience store next door, where you can stock up on the essentials, whilst dining out is possible, with both The White Swan Inn serving hearty fare, and The Black Bull Inn pub serving delicious meals.

Heading further afield, reach Holy Island by boat, offering a range of historical attractions including Lindisfarne Castle, the breath-taking ruins of Lindisfarne Priory and the Farne Islands, where you can wildlife spot and feel at one with nature, before grabbing some refreshments from The Ship Inn Holy Island.

For a more adrenaline filled break, head to the town of Wooler and surrounding area of the Northumberland National Park, which is rich in walking trails, cycling tracks and equestrian routes, with a selection of independent cafés and delicatessens to tuck into a spot of lunch.

Finally, travel by car to Berwick-upon-Tweed, where you can discover the Elizabethan walls, a tranquil riverside, a sandy beach, and a selection of unique shops for some holiday gifts.

The small attractive village of Lowick is ideally placed for a holiday in Northumberland and is host to two vibrant pubs, The Black Bull Inn and The White Swan Inn where you can sample some hearty fare before continuing with your adventures. It also has a fantastic village shop where you can stock up on the essentials or treat your loved ones to a selection of home baked goods. Kimmerston Riding Centre is just a few miles to the west of the village . The pretty village of Ford with its castle and craft shops is 2 miles away, part of the Ford and Etal Estate which has facilities for cycling and fishing, as well as a mini railway – ideal for all the family. There are also excellent golfing opportunities, with 8 golf courses within 20 miles of Lowick. Northumberland’s beautiful coastline, Holy Island, the Cheviots for hill walking and mountain biking and the fascinating border town of Berwick, are all only short drives away. A superb base for exploring all the region has to offer.
