  • "The standard of fixtures and fittings is to an extremely high standard and there is everything you need for time away from home."

Details like the fairy lights amongst the beams gave it a cosy and inviting feel. Pete checks in by text to ensure there are no hitches and is friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend. There is lots of beautiful scenery close by the village of Heptonstall with its cobbled streets a gem.

About the location

CRAGG VALE

Hebden Bridge 3.7 miles; Todmorden 8.1 miles; Halifax 8.9 miles.

The beautiful Pennine village of Cragg Vale is situated on the steep and winding Cragg Road and is the longest incline in England, still a major challenge to cyclists. The road winds its way up to beautiful heather-clad moorland, 1000 feet above sea level, and wooded cloughs and babbling brooks that cascade down the hillsides beckon the walker to explore the countryside. On the other side of the valley is the village of Luddenden and the glorious oak woodlands that make up Jerusalem Farm, a local nature reserve made famous by TV's In Loving Memory. In fact, this beautiful area has also featured in TV shows Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax. Nearby Hebden Bridge is a diverse and bohemian town home to restaurants, bars, bistros, markets, an independent cinema, art galleries, and the picturesque Rochdale Canal. A scenic car ride over the moors takes you to the splendid Parsonage Museum which commemorates the famous Bronte family. The area is a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. Skipton, "Gateway to the Dales", is also an easy and scenic car ride away.
