  • "We had a lovely stay."

The cottage is very cosy and well equipped. Just a short walk into Bakewell (albeit a steep walk back!) Would definitely recommend this property.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and hope you are able to return to Fable cottage soon. Property Owner

  • "This lovely cottage is set in a lovely quiet location and finished to a very high standard the owners have provided everything you would require for you to enjoy your stay ."

Because of a medical issue we were limited to a degree and we spent more time in the cottage than we had planned but still had a really good relaxing break. The location did enable us to enjoy the surrounding area . We would love to return in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending the property to friends and family. Many thanks.

Thank you for your lovely review and we hope all is OK with you now. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Fable cottage and hope that you come back for a return visit soon! Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely weekend at Fable Cottage walking and sightseeing."

The cottage is in a really quiet part of Bakewell away from the hustle and bustle. It was really clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The only niggle was the poor WiFi signal which meant the smart tv kept going off which wasn't much fun when trying to watch a film. We would happily stay again.

Thank you for your review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Fable cottage. Property Owner

  • "We discovered on the Saturday morning that we had been sleeping on an oil stained bed sheet."

We immediately reported it to the provided email but by Monday (when we left) the bedding had still not been replaced. The property also has a very slow, basic and unreliable wifi (oscillating between 0, 1 and 8mgbs) that struggles to provide a continuous signal to the Smart TV. And as there is no working TV or satellite ariel at the property, when the Wifi trips or slows ,3mgbs, then there is no TV. At the least a backup DVD player would have helped whilst the owners fix the no satellite and slow wifi issues. This was especially disappointing considering how prominently the TV area features in the pictures on Sykes website. Very surprised also that this known issue isn't mentioned in the advertising. Owners/Sykes did send an email just before our arrival but it was sufficiently vague that we did not cancel the booking (which we would have had we known)

  • "Had a great week once we got over the fact the bathroom was downstairs which meant descending down the difficult staircase in the night."

The cottage was so well situated just a short walk down a very steep hill ( not suitable for everyone) and so close to buses which we used daily and never moved our car. We’d certainly return to this comfy, well equipped cottage in an excellent area for walking and sightseeing.

Thank you very much for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Bakewell and we hope you visit again soon! Regards, Dorota Property Owner

  • "This fabulous cottage is beautifully presented and located just a short walk from the pretty market town of Bakewell."

The cottage was immaculately clean, cosy, comfortable, well equipped and the owner very helpful. Bakewell is a perfect choice for a short break with a variety of shops and places to eat. It is also a short travelling distance from many other pretty Peak District towns and villages. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage and, when we next return to this beautiful town, it will be our first choice of accommodation.
