  • "Beautiful cottage with very thoughtful attention to detail."

The owners left a wonderful welcome pack full of treats and were very good communicating about check in and instructions about parking. The cottage is close to everything in Bakewell with a lovely alternative route via the meadow and brook to the centre of Bakewell or straight along the road for 5/10 minutes. Lovely area and the Peak District never disappoints.

Resting within a prime position in the heart of Bakewell, a charming market town in Derbyshire is Mouse Cottage, a delightful, two-bedroom abode.

Just a stone's throw away from a hub of amenities and attractions, Mouse Cottage offers four guests a homely base whilst exploring the wonders of the Peak District National Park.

Travel to the rear of the home, benefitting from off-road parking, before heading through the multi-level garden, complete with a outdoor furniture and a barbecue for alfresco mealtimes, in addition to a lovely summerhouse which offers an additional spot to lounge and unwind.

Step indoors, firstly reaching the well-equipped kitchen, where you'll find a gas Range, a microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, to ease your stay.

Prepare delectable meals ready to be enjoyed around the dining table, before stepping down into the inviting sitting room, complete with plush seating, beamed ceilings, and a rustling log effect gas fire.

As the sun sets over Derbyshire, retire upstairs to locate two well-appointed double bedrooms, one of which has its own log effect gas fire, perfect for cosying up after a day of adventure.

The cottage is complete with a contemporary bathroom, where you can prepare for your coming days.

Once you're ready to explore, start off locally in Bakewell, where you'll find a host of independent shops, traditional taverns, Thornbridge Brewery, where you can sample some local produce, the stunning Bakewell Bridge, and Bakewell Old House Museum.

Travelling north, head to Speedwell Cavern and the Blue John Cavern, both recommended to tour, before climbing up to the Derwent Dam Viewpoint, offering breath-taking, countryside views.

Buxton is a key area of interest to add to your itinerary, with the Poole's Cavern attraction on offer, the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery to discover, and Solomon’s Temple to visit, before rerouting towards Matlock, home to Gulliver's Kingdom, Lumsdale Waterfall, and The Great Masson Cavern.
