  • "We really enjoyed our time at Haddon cottage."

We had our 16 month old with us and found the cottage to be very toddler friendly (no sharp corners etc). We did bring our own cot and highchair but found a highchair in the games room too if you didn’t want to bring your own. Nice shared gardens and also saw some goats and alpacas which the little one enjoyed. A great base for going to Chatsworth. We would come again!

  • "The bathroom needs addressing because the smell of damp hits you as soon as you walk in the cottage."

The electrics also need to be addressed due to the fact when you put cooker on the lights dimmed and as you turned more appliances on the lights dimmed even more. The place was full of flys especially in the windows and on the ceilings, especially as we were in October and i know the cowshed was directly in front of the property but even still…..The walls looked as if they had damp especially to the front of the property. The cottages were in an excellent spot to use as a jumping off point and the views were breathtaking.Teddy our dog even loved to see the goats every morning and evening. The kitchen utensils were something to be desired as we used more out of our campervan as there weren’t enough in the kitchen. We wouldn’t recommend this cottage to be honest.

  • "Haddon suite was very nice, comfortable and had nearly everything you would need to have, as you would at home."

And a Basket with some Teabags, Coffee and Biscuits. Thank you. We bought lovely eggs from there. My only thought is. I have mobility issues and would have been nice for a hand rail on the wall just outside the shower on the right, as it was a bit high for me and this would have helped and made it possible for me to have a shower. It would have been lovely if it was a wet room, as plenty of space.

  • "The beds were very uncomfortable there was mould and damp evident in the bathroom on the positive side ie was a great location for the Derbyshire dales to visit loved Bakewell ."

I think the property requires an update however there are not many properties accepting three dogs which was good

  • "Beautiful location, walking distance to both Bakewell and Over Hadden."

Cottage had everything we needed and was clean. It was slightly tired around the edges, and the bathroom needed a refurbishment - but was fine for our needs.

  • "There were only 2 of us and it was manageable but there was inconsistency in the number of crockery and cutlery and no Sharpe knife or bread knife."

In terms of disabled facilities, my daughter found the height of the toilet too low which was difficult for her and the shower was too tight to use a shower stool. When upstairs use the bathroom it is extremely noisy which is disruptive when sleeping. We did enjoy our stay and it is a beautiful site.
