  • "What a great place to stay, perfectly placed for visiting everything the Peak District has to offer."

We spent our days walking and exploring and the evenings relaxing in the Lodge, a real homely feeling with all the mod cons. The location is very quiet, and seeing the horses pass by every day was a bonus. We'd highly recommend Heron Lodge and hope to visit again in the future.

  • "Lovely little lodge in a great spot."

Nice and quiet. Bathroom and kitchen is lovely. The stairs to upper bedroom are very steep though so wouldnt recommend if you have little kids. This room also got quite warm by the evening so worth keeping windows open before bedtime. The owners are great, really helpful and would always stop for a chat when putting the horses on the field. Would definitely go again

  • "Heron lodge is an amazing stay!"

Close to local shops and great dog walking spots, the location even has an enclosed dog exercise paddock you can use. We were provided with a lovely welcome basket and all instructions for the lodge provided. Dean and Angela met us on arrival, had a chat with us and met the dogs which I though was great! The beds and rooms were comfortable and clean and the bathroom is an impressive size too and there is plenty of space to relax in the open plan kitchen living room with cosy blankets and throws provided, if you do get colder (not that we did!) there is underfloor heating and a log burner. We would come back to Heron Lodge in a heart beat!

Nothing was too much trouble for Dean and his family. The lodge was immaculate and had everything you need for self catering and quality of the facilities excellent. If you like peace and tranquility this the perfect place.
