  • "Our 2nd fantastic visit to the Chapel."

This is a wonderful conversion, renovated to a high standard. We love the property and the peace and tranquility of the area, the very few locals you come across are very friendly in this tiny village. Very clean on arrival and heating easily adjusted and with a great log burner, downstairs bedroom and walk in shower room/deep bath adjacent are lovely, shower has great pressure, constant hot water. Both beds and seating very comfy with quality towels and bedding. The upstairs bedroom has a toilet and wash basin. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need of excellent quality . An improvement since our last visit is the addition of a good size television in the lounge as opposed to the overhead wall projector which was a little difficult to navigate. Plenty of great quiet walks direct from the front door. Maintained to a high standard inside and outside. Keysafe entry, within approx 5 miles from major supermarkets and within driving distance of many peak district areas. Would definitely recommend and will return as we absolutely love it here. An absolute credit to the owners.

The kitchen is huge and has everything you need for your stay! The underfloor heating is great after a cold wet walk and the wood burning stove made it cosy at night. Would definitely stay here again!

Slight problem with TV but quickly resolved with a phonecall to Harriet the owner. Would definitely recommend if you book you won't be disappointed.

Thank you, glad we managed to sort the TV and apologies it didn’t work straight away. We would love to welcome you back again. Property Owner

  • "The house is wonderful but the ability to mop and hoover would make a big difference and the job of the cleaner at the end easier."

There was a mop but it required pads which were not there and the hoover didn't suck. Other than this absolutely faultless stay. Thankyou

  • "Fantastic stay at The Chapel."

Very clean and warm on arrival. Beautifully maintained with everything you need. Effective easy to adjust heating, constant hot water, good flow in shower and beautiful deep bath, quality towels provided. Comfy beds and seating. There is an en suite in the upstairs bedroom that is not mentioned in the description. Plenty of storage throughout. The property has a lovely tranquil away from it all feeling and unique, absolutely no light pollution at night. Set in a very small quiet village with lovely walks direct from the property for all abilities. The very large screen TV projector was amazing, works different to traditional TVs but full instructions provided, may struggle slightly if you are not very tall as needs turning on at the ceiling, I am 5ft 8in and managed well. Would have loved to have stayed longer than 7 days in this beautiful property . Harriet and Harry are excellent hosts, no contact key safe entry for arrival but only a phone call away if needed. We had a couple of questions which were responded to immediately. Would highly recommend.

  • "The Chapel is just wonderful."

A real WOW factor. Very modern, but maintaining original features. The mezzanine bedroom with the pulpit...brilliant. plus an ensuite, which was not mentioned in the details. So a bonus! This property has been renovated to a very high standard. The beds were super comfy. Although the Chapel is open plan and spacious, it has such a cosy feel to it. The property is well located for getting out and about. So many places to explore Close by. I would highly recommend the Chapel. The owners have done it proud.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re so happy you liked how we’ve renovated The Chapel and would love to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property in beautiful surroundings."

Points for improvement - a microwave would have been useful, as would instructions for the heating. Sometimes it was too hot and sometimes it was chilly. The fridge and freezer could have done with a clean. The projector was a bit of a faff to use and almost unwatchable during the daytime which was disappointing.

Hi Clare, thank you for your feedback. We've only recently started holiday letting and it's great to know what people want. We've ordered a microwave and will have it in the property soon. We will also, look into changing the way people can watch TV during their stay and adding heating instructions to the welcome pack. We've also just instructed a professional cleaning company to do the changeovers so that nothing is missed in the future, apologies it wasn't up to standard when you stayed. We're glad you found Brackenfield a beautiful place to be in and would love to welcome you back. Property Owner
