  • "The house is a little tired in places and needs attention."

    Carpet needs replacing on stairs paintwork needs attention. There should also be a blind at the huge kitchen window as everyone including passing buses can see in we found it uncomfortable being in there. Also the house is up for sale which we found unusual as the for sale board was outside and we did see someone looking around outside very off putting whilst on holiday. I think this needs addressing with the owner, all in all we had a good stay but there were issues.

  • "Very good other than a couple of maintenance issues: Loose electrical socket in kitchen."

    Shower head rail very loose. Very creaky floors A teapot & egg cups would have been nice. Also a working fire in the living room although we were warm enough despite the tricky thermostat! Overall we were satisfied with the house & very impressed by its location, village & surrounding area.

  • "Fantastic accommodation and its a well known location even amongst the locals when we told them we came to visit and staying at a cottage near by they said is it at “68” ?"

    We loved the house to bits and leaving with wonderful memories ! We managed to park our 4 cars three in the front and 1 nearby ! It’s very close to the trails and small but beautiful town. I recommend it to a large family. The only regret is that we couldn’t manage to use the large dining table to its multiple uses like turning it to a pool table and table tennis table as we were so engrossed in other activities we completely forgot about it ! We only realised it the morning we were leaving so I suggest the others to go for it immediately once you settle down in the cottage !

Chapel-en-le-Frith 4 miles; Glossop 5 miles; Buxton 8 miles.

The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other local attractions include the Goyt Valley, Castleton – with its famous caverns - and the popular spa town of Buxton.
