  • "Stunning apartment with beautiful views over the Tay."

    Adam is an excellent host, always willing to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We had a wonderful holiday and visited Wormit, Dundee, Tayport, St Andrews, Broughty Ferry and Carnoustie, either walking from the apartment, or making use of the very good local bus network. The facilities in the apartment are excellent, views from the lounge and bedroom are superb, especially at night. So glad we were able to visit this little haven. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Lazy Bulldog.

  • "We had a fantastic stay here."

    The views over the Tay Estuary were absolutely stunning, we even spotted an otter swimming by, which was a real highlight. The apartment is modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is great too, with shops and restaurants nearby, making it easy to explore the area. Adam was a wonderful host, providing helpful tips and always being available if we needed anything. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked our second stay. A perfect base for exploring this beautiful area - highly recommended.

  • "This was an amazing little find."

    The views were stunning snd the house itself was immaculate with wee touches over and above to make it extra special. The host is a genuinely lovely guy and was really keen to help. All in all an awesome weekend and cannot recommend this wee house enough. Thank you

  • "Excellent apartment with fantastic private views across the Tay."

    Everything was as described, modern, spotlessly clean and in working order. Despite being about zero degrees outside, the apartment was very cosy. Dog friendly with off-lead areas at the coastline 50m away from the gate. Easily accessible to Tentsmuir forest/beach and the Fife Coastal Path, e.g. Wormit to Balmerino Abbey. Local buses to Dundee and St Andrews from near the gate. Thank you Adam for local advice and treats for us and Amber.

  • "An excellent accommodation and an excellent host."

    What really makes this property so special is the view but there are so many other little touches that have just gone a step further than other holiday homes we’ve stayed at like the boiling hot water tap.

  • "My partner and I have just returned home after a break, staying at the Lazy Bulldog."

    The accommodation was spotless, the views across the Tay were amazing and most importantly.....the owner, Adam, was extremely helpful. Left us to relax but was available if needed. The apartment has the facilities you are likely to need and there are shops only a scenic 10 minute coastal walk away to stock up at if required. We highly recommend the Lazy Bulldog and look forward to revisiting.

    Fabulous view, comfortable bed, everything I could need and all of it spotlessly clean. A wonderful host who couldn’t be more helpful and who checked in to make sure I had all I needed. Excellent location within very easy reach of Dundee city, but great little cafes and coffee within a 5 minute walk of the apartment. Will definitely come back and will recommend to others.   • "We were absolutely delighted with this holiday rental it was nothing short of perfect."

    The quality of the accommodation was 5 star and the location was stunning , to be able to look out over the Tay estuary was absolutely magical even in the pouring rain. This is probably the best holiday rental we have ever been on. To cap it all Adam was the perfect host,we will definitely return sometime soon.

St Andrews 10 miles; Carnoustie 13 miles; Perth 24 miles.

The coastal town of Newport-on-Tay was originally developed in the 12th century as part of a ferry crossing to Dundee. A new harbour was built in the 1820s by Thomas Telford and the town developed as a fashionable commuter suburb of Dundee. Also archaeological excavations in the town have uncovered a Bronze Age cemetery dating from around 1700 to 2000 BC. The Fife Coastal Path running from the Forth Estuary in the south, to the Tay Estuary in the north and stretching for 117 miles passes through Newport-on-Tay, plus the attractive open farmland makes this part of Fife particularly attractive. Visit Cupar and the pretty village of Leuchars, or take in the air show at the nearby RAF base. This is an ideal location for golfing enthusiasts as Carnoustie and St Andrews are only short drives away. This part of Scotland has some truly spectacular stretches of coastline with Tentsmuir Forest and National Nature Reserve covering some 50 square miles, the St Andrews beach itself and, slightly further south, the beach at Kingsbarns, are all worth a visit.
