  • "We had a lovely stay in Fordie Lodge, the house is very big and we had enough space for the five of us to do our own things, but also being together."

The house has a well equiped kitchen and lovely bathrooms. We loved the personal touch and 'vibe' in the house. The house tells you a story and as soon as you come in the frontdoor you will feel it !! The area is very beautiful and on the estate we saw squirrels, birds and deer.

It is so nice that you felt the history of the property but enjoyed the quirkiness too! We agree that the wildlife we have here on Fordie Estate is so rich and diverse, and we are delighted that you were able to see a snapshot of that while you were staying. • "Forgie Lodge is fabulous!"

A very unique place to stay in a well located and beautiful area. The house is warm and comfortable and well equipped. Ideal for a family get together as it is so spacious. The wifi is mentioned as an issue in the listing but we found that it worked well in most parts of the house and had no complaints. Would 100% book again, we had a great time.

Hello there Sheena, How lovely it was to chat with you during your recent stay at Fordie Lodge, and thank you so much for your very positive review. We are delighted to hear that everything was great for a Family get together and that our sometimes temperamental WiFi behaved itself! Our area is earmarked for superfast broadband at the end of 2023 so fingers crossed for that. Please do come and see us again , we would love to welcome you back again soon. Take care till then. Many thanks once again. Kindest Regards Sheenagh McIntyre - Property Manager Property Owner

Hello there Mary, Thank you so much for your very positive feedback as regards your stay at Fordie Lodge. What a lovely Family you have, and I enjoyed chatting to them while they were here! We fully understand that longer stays with Families require facilities, and our plan to have a "Laundry Room" for guests to use up and running by mid June 2023 has already started. We are glad that you enjoyed the Lodge and the beautiful surroundings, and we hope to see you all again soon. Many thanks once again Sheenagh McIntyre - Property Manager Property Owner

About the location

COMRIE

Crieff 7 miles; Gleneagles 16 miles; Perth 24 miles.

The affluent highland Perthshire village of Comrie is named from the Gaelic word conruith meaning 'a place where rivers meet' and is appropriate as the village sits at the confluence of three rivers which eventually feed into the Tay. There are numerous standing stones and archaeological remains in the area, suggesting this area was inhabited in prehistoric times. Comrie’s early prosperity came from weaving and its position on the droving route from the Highlands to lowland Scotland and England. Today’s village benefits from wildlife and adventure tourism as its location makes it ideal for exploring the mountains and lochs that surround it, plus tourist attractions include Earthquake House and Auchingarrich Wildlife Park. A few miles outside of Comrie towards Dunira is the Dalchonzie Fruit Farm which sells fruit, vegetables, jams and pickles, meat, free range eggs, and ice-cream. Comrie Golf Course tea room is open to all at the edge of the village towards Crieff. The attractive town of Crieff is only six miles to the east and its many shops, bars and cafes make it well worth a visit, and for the golf enthusiast, Gleneagles is only a short drive away. Other places well worth a visit include the Glenturret Distillery and Drummond Castle Gardens, plus the village of Killin and town of Aberfeldy are also within driving distance.
