  • "A fabulous welcome from Clare, who really went the extra mile on hearing it was my birthday!"

Superb property with everything needed for a lovely, relaxing break. Highlight was getting great photos of a kestrel hovering above the garden at close quarters. Loads to see in the area, I just wish I’d booked and stayed for longer.

Hi Karen, Thank you for your lovely comments, I am very pleased that you enjoyed your birthday break. We are lucky to see both kestrel and curlew close to - which is the reason we chose the names for the cottages. The magic of seeing them never dulls. There is a good deal to see in the area - and it would be lovely to welcome you back to enjoy more of it. Best wishes, Clare Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at this property."

It was warm and cosy. Everything was spotlessly clean. The view, from the large window, was very peaceful. The location was ideal for visiting Chester and north Wales. The owners were very friendly and gave us recommendations for walking and places to eat.

The facilities were first class, with top quality fittings. The owners were friendly and helpful. We were there for a week over Christmas and many special touches made our stay very homely. The bed was the best I’ve slept in! The property was warm and cosy with every modern convenience. We would love to return in the summer.

Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your Christmas visit. It would be lovely to welcome you back in the summer - and we will ensure that if you do, that you have a teapot and toast rack. Clare Property Owner

About the location

TILSTON

Malpas 4.5 miles; Whitchurch 10 miles; Chester 14 miles.

The village of Tilston is situated on the upper reaches of the River Dee, located between the medieval city of Chester and the market town of Whitchurch. Close by is the Carden Park Hotel with a superb 5 star leisure spa and golf course. Chester is just 14 miles away, and this Roman city has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The City has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, and the market towns and villages of Cheshire, Shropshire and Wrexham are all within easy touring distance, whilst the nearby Wirral Peninsula has many splendid courses to tempt the golfing enthusiast.
