  • "We feel privileged to have been the first occupants of this new cottage."

Having booked for 4 nights we decided to stay the following week. Hugh and Claire were very welcoming and we were pleased to be accepted by their two very friendly dogs, Purdey and Flo. The cottage was very comfortable and eco friendly and we look forward to staying there again sometime soon.

Thank you for your kind words - we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Kestrel. It was a pleasure to meet you and Barbara - and we very much hope to be able to welcome you back soon. Purdey agrees! Property Owner

About the location

TILSTON

Malpas 4.5 miles; Whitchurch 10 miles; Chester 14 miles.

The village of Tilston is situated on the upper reaches of the River Dee, located between the medieval city of Chester and the market town of Whitchurch. Close by is the Carden Park Hotel with a superb 5 star leisure spa and golf course. Chester is just 14 miles away, and this Roman city has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The City has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, and the market towns and villages of Cheshire, Shropshire and Wrexham are all within easy touring distance, whilst the nearby Wirral Peninsula has many splendid courses to tempt the golfing enthusiast.
