  • "Lovely holiday cottage perfect for large groups."

Very social living space, nice to be able to sit everyone around the dining table. We had two young children with us, the stair gates, high chair and bed guard were great touches. Hot tub is amazing, although it wasn't up to temperature on our first night. Generally really clean throughout, some dust on the floor in the living room but otherwise spotless. Would definitely come back.

  • "Will not be booking again."

Very disappointing customer service when dealing with a complaint. Hot tub was not working for most of our trip due to an electrical fault on the part of the owners. Lots of rules and regulations and fines for customers using hot tub, but not a lot of acknowledgment of owners fault. Refund was offered but was an insult. We booked the accommodation solely for the purpose of the hot tub.

  • "The accommodation was fantastic."

We had a problem with our heating on the first night and both Chloe and Fiona were brilliant in helping to find a solution. First class customer service with a smile. We enjoyed the Games Room and our hot tub. Some fabulous walks in the area too.

  • "From the moment we walked in to a welcome of cake, wine and chocolate until we left with a friendly word with the cleaner we could not have wished for better holiday accommodation."

Comfortable beds, quality equipment and facilities - everything we needed for our group of 6 adults and 4 children - and really useful information about the cottage and the area. The shared gym and games room was enjoyed by us all (although we couldn't use the snooker table as none of us had a 50p coin) and after exploring the beautiful country side - the hot tub was bliss!!

We found it in a lovely location with lots of walks/bike rides for different abilities. There was also lots of choice of interesting things to do in the area. The games room was a great facility for families. We would definitely recommend it and come again

  • "This was our second time staying at Troopers Barn."

We chose to stay again as we felt the first time that it had everything we needed and it didn't disappoint this time. We were a group of friends travelling with vintage cars, there was plenty of parking space and some lovely quiet roads around to explore. The accommodation was very clean and we were provided with good information before our trip. A lovely weekend helped by the good weather !!

  • "Great stay with friends."

The barn gave us ample amounts of room and we had a lovely time. Great space for large groups. The only downside was that we couldn’t get the tv in the living room to work. Not the end of the world, but was a slight inconvenience.

  • "Beautiful barn conversion, great family weekend away, property was exactly as stated in the write up."

Spaceous and comfy. Nice touch with complimentary wine, and cake. Kitchen was very well equipped, coffee, tea, milk, foil, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid all provided. Just one little problem 9.30am check out is far too early with a family especially when you have two small babies, would have loved to have had relaxed breakfast before our journey home to finish off a splendid weekend. Dad's and children loved the games room

  • "We absolutely loved Troopers Barn!"

From the first moment we walked in (and found wine and cake ready to welcome us!) The place was spotless, and amazing for family groups with children. Our little ones loved exploring the house and playing hide and seek. Our bigger ones loved the games room, chilling in the big lounge in the evenings with everyone watching movies, and the hot tub. The countryside is beautiful. We had an amazing time, thank you!

  • "The accommodation was extremely comfortable, clean, well-equipped and the hosts responded very quickly and helpfully to queries."

The only criticisms that we had were that the bed in the upstairs bedroom with ensuite was uncomfortable (mattress saggy and the whole bed moved when one person rolled over) and a pair of kitchen scissors would be useful. The location was lovely and we all really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

  • "Very well appointed accommodation that was comfortable for eight adults."

We had one dog and the field opposite was very handy to exercise him in. The property owner was friendly and accessible without being intrusive. Although Troopers Barn is in a complex with other properties but there is plenty of car parking and there is a private patio at the rear with a hot tub. The location is rural, needing a vehicle to go to shops, pubs or restaurants so we’ll worth taking supplies with you.

The cottages are quite remote, but only 30-40 min drive to a whole host of good attractions and beautiful countryside. The owners and staff at the holiday homes couldn’t have been more helpful.
