  • "Melrose is an outstanding property."

As a family, we have enjoyed many holiday properties throughout Wales through Sykes and all the properties in terms of standards and quality never disappoint. Melrose is the best in our opinion, the attention to detail is unsurpassed; it truly is a fantastic property which we will endeavour to visit again in the very near future. Many thanks to Shirley-a great host and I wish her all the best in her new venture.

Thank you so much for your review and your lovely comments, it is very much appreciated and means a lot. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and you found Melrose and it’s facilities enjoyable. We would love to welcome you back! Property Owner

  • "Lovely stay!"

Beds were so comfortable and cosy. Perfect location and everything you need for a great stay. Once the damp/mould issue is sorted this will be a 10/10 stay. Our clothes did smell once we left the property, due to the damp smell, which was visible on walls in the conservatory and a little on the kitchen windows. It didn't stop us having a lovely time, but if guests are sensitive to the smell of damp then it might be an issue for them. Apart from this we have a lovely stay and the house was exceptionally cleaned for our arrival.

Hi Amy, thank you so much for your review, it is very much appreciated. I’m sorry to hear you had an issue with surface mould. I can confirm that additional vents will be added to the rooms and areas have now been treated. Hopefully this will rectify the problem but we will be keeping a close eye in future. The property has recently undergone a major renovation and has been unlived in for a length of time. I’m sure this contributed to the problem but is now not the case. Thank you for your feedback, we’re glad you had a lovely time and enjoyed your stay here. Property Owner

About the location

KILGETTY

Cresswell Quay 2.4 miles; Saundersfoot 3 miles; Yerbeston 3.9 miles; Tenby 5 miles.

The rural village of Kilgetty is situated 2.4 miles from one of the most picturesque villages in Pembrokeshire, Cresswell Quay is best described as a delightful hamlet of scattered cottages at the edge of the tidal estuary. The central focal point is, of course, the old quay where boats can still moor, for the time the tide allows, and you may wish to pop into the Cresselly Arms for light refreshments. Just a short drive from the town of Tenby and offers a selection of shops and pubs, along with its own train station. Kilgetty is central to a number of attractions, with the coastal resorts of Saundersfoot and Tenby nearby, offering fabulous beaches, watersports and boat trips to Caldey Island, the home of a small gathering of monks and their monastery. Also nearby is the award winning Folly Farm, which makes for a great family day out and enables you to see a working farm at its best. Oakwood Theme Park is a 10 minute drive away and boasts the biggest wooden rollercoaster in Europe, whilst the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline and the coastal National Park, a walker's paradise, are also within easy reach.
