  • "Great place ideally located in the centre of town."

Very clean and stalked with tea and coffee. The host was very accommodating and responded very quickly. There were some challenges around parking vehicles as there is only on road parking. Ideally it could use another bathroom downstairs but understand that it's an old building and this may not be possible.

Thank you for the positive feedback and yes parking can sometimes be tricky as we are in the town centre but a new public car park has just opened round the corner at a cost of around £5 for 24hrs parking. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at The Hame over August bank holiday weekend."

We are a group of 9 friends who were completing the Offa’s Dyke path. The house suited our needs beautifully meaning we could all stay together including 2 dogs. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The living room, kitchen and dining room were really spacious and well equipped- 9adults could sprawl out on the comfy sofas, mill around the kitchen preparing breakfasts and sit around the great dining table. There was also a lovely enclosed yard with barbecue. Upstairs the bedrooms were great, comfy beds and flexibility of doubles and singles. You can feel the history of the house as you can with any of the buildings in Monmouth. Another plus is that you are right in the heart of town.

Thank you very much for the lovely feedback, and please come again anytime Property Owner

  • "We loved the stay at The Hame."

Spacious, well maintained, clean- it felt like a perfect home. Everything was there including appliances, linen, kitchen utensils, high chair, baby cot, kids utensils, everything. We didnt stuggle with parking either. We had 2 cars and always got space in the street. Free parking between 5pm to 9 am. 2 hours free parking between 9am to 5pm, and that was plenty for us. Parking was easily available in nearby streets as well. Enjoyed the barbeque outside. Television, Wi-Fi- all great. Above all, the house owner was very helpful at all times. She answered all questions quickly and clearly. Definitely recommended.

Thank you very for this amazing feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and you are welcome back anytime. Many thanks Property Owner

  • "I would suggest that anyone reading the listings stop right now and book The Hame."

It far exceeded our expectations. It is spacious with everything you need from a completely outfitted kitchen with dishes microwave etc. to a blow dryer for your hair in the bathroom and a barbeque grille on the very private and spacious patio. The rooms are large and there is a television in the dining room and sitting room. It is a beautiful house in a fantastic location, within walking distance of shops pubs restaurants etc. The local bus service took us on many adventures to nearby towns and the scenery on the way to Ross Abergavenny and Chepstow was remarkable. The house is so perfect that my husband has already said we will stay there the next trip even if there are only two of us going. I heartily recommend it to anyone. This is the best of the best.

Thank you so much, that is amazing feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and of course you are welcome again anytime. Many thanks Mariane Property Owner

About the location

MONMOUTH

Ross-on-Wye 10 miles; Usk, 14.5 miles; Abergavenny 18.5 miles.

An intriguing market town on the border between Wales and England and close to the exceptional Offa’s Dyke, this wonderful town combines old and new, from the old castle ruins to the vibrant weekly market. Located at the confluence of 3 rivers – the Wye, the Monnow and the Trothy, it is an excellent base to enjoy river boating, scenic walks and a little shopping too, or to sit and relax on the edge of the river and watch the rowers who regularly race and practise their skills. Monmouth is most famous as the birthplace of Henry V and offers the opportunity to see historic buildings, the preserved medieval 13th century bridge over the river Monnow (the only one of its kind in Britain) and the famous Nelson Garden. This is truly a small town with a huge array of interesting sights to visit. The surrounding areas are steeped in history too and short drives will take you to nearby Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and even into the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
