  • "Weavers cottage is adorable and has the basics you need for a stay in Lavenham."

Its ideally situated in the village and is lovely and quiet. The garden would benefit from a bit of love and tlc, it was a bit tired as was the cottage. That said it's the end of the season. I really loved Lavenham and will definately return but maybe not to this cottage.

  • "Beautiful village, lovely cottage, lots of walking and history right outside the door."

We didn't use the car all week as there are shops and places to eat just a few minutes walk. Very peaceful and relaxing with a bench for a morning cup of tea in the sun down the garden. Go down the stairs backwards is my tip

  • "The cottage itself was mostly as described, lovely, clean and cosy."

The sofa and only soft chair to sit on had seen better days and not comfortable at all, this will need an update. Sorry. Garden was very overgrown and not as secure (enclosed)as we thought it would be, it wasn’t until we arrived that we found our dog could get into the neighbours gardens so was having to be on her lead all the time, we blocked of the patio area with the bins and garden chairs so she could have a little freedom. This can be easily rectified by perhaps putting some wire fencing around the hedging. The village and Surrounding area was beautiful and would come again staying a different cottage. Sorry.

  • "It is a fantastic quirky little property in a fantastic location, I would have given it 5star throughout if it wasn’t for the most clapped out uncomfortable settee I have ever had to sit on, apart from that 100%."

Such a shame that this wonderful little cottage is let down by such a simply change item of essential furniture has not been done, but tried to be disguised with numerous cushions so the owner is obviously aware of its demise.

  • "Loved the cottage itself, it was in a great location for all what the village has to offer."

We had a wonderful week there. Our only niggle was that the sofa and chair in the living room were both very uncomfortable. They were oversized and I not being very tall struggled to get comfy on the sofa.

  • "The property could be lovely but let down by lack of maintenance and care ."

On a sunny week the advertised BBQ was very dirty with snails and was left with an empty gas canister ! The parisol kept collapsing due to being tied down by a broken plant pot ! The furniture in the living room is very tired . The main bedroom and bathroom are however great . Lavenham itself is a real treat though ….

  • "Weaver cottage is a quaint cottage in a great location , however when we arrived the outside was very dirty the light windows etc, (I cleaned the front windows myself) the back yard had broken pots with plastic plants in them ."

Garden furniture very uncomfortable and the table needed a good clean and sanding. I feel that no effort was made to make it Clean and tidy. What would the cost of a few fresh potted fowers be ?? Honestly very bad . I also feel you should have highlighted more the very poor access to the bedrooms. We are fit enough but still felt it was dangerous , a rope attached to the side of the stairs might help. I know the property is for sale at the moment but if you are renting it again please try to make it more enjoyable for visitors coming to stay. Colett Lenehan.

  • "We had a lovely time in Lavenham."

On the first day, we took the walking tour recommanded by the tourist information center, and took some time to enjoy the garden on the property. On the second day, we drove to Manningtree to walk from there to Flatford. We intend to come to Lavenham again if we can.

  • "Hot water only trickled out of shower."

Instructions on how to switch on hot water incorrect - stated a 'red button' - was actually a white switch. Very old sofa, extremely uncomfortable with sunken seating. Stairs extremely steep. Although garden was enclosed, there gaps in the hedges through which your dog could escape.

  • "A wonderful cosy, characterful cottage, close to local amenities."

Plenty to do in the local area. We immediately felt very at home here and were sad to leave at the end of our stay.

  • "The nicest rental we've stayed in."

The cottage oozes character. It is clean and quiet. Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and equipped. The cottage is perfectly located in Lavenham with quick access to lots of suitable walks from the house, and also tow minutes away from the historical Market Square. More importantly our two dogs were at home straight away and loved it too. Highly recommended, and we hope to return.
