  • "We stayed at Broadside Cottage over NYE with our two young children and had a brilliant time."

The cottage is ideally located on a quiet road, close to the pier end of Southwold, come out of the garden path, look left and you can see the sea. cottage is well laid out with all the equipment you’d need in the kitchen (including a microwave which the listing states it didn’t have so was a bonus when travelling with kids!), and included a lovely welcome hamper. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cloths are provided. As well as shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. Cottage was generally clean but my only negative would be there was still a lot of dog hair in the carpets from previous renters. I went round with the Hoover and managed to get a lot up so I think the cleaning could be improved in this respect. Being all on one level the cottage was great for travelling with two little ones (1 & 3) and a high chair was provided so can recommend for those travelling with children. Thanks for a lovely new years by the sea!

  • "An exceptional property."

So comfortable, warm and well equipped. Perfectly sited for getting around Southwold without the car. Beautiful garden too. We are very sad that dogs are no longer allowed as that prohibits a further stay. We have three or more cottage holidays a year and this has to be one of the best we have ever stayed in.

  • "Broadside cottage was delightful, with lots of really thoughtful touches such as the hairdryers available to use whilst there."

Appreciated the welcome basket too. Clean, comfortable, well equipped and a surprisingly spacious bungalow. No problems street parking. Loved our week’s stay.

  • "We have really enjoyed our stay at Broadside Cottage."

The cottage is lovely and beautifully situated for amenities and walks by the sea. It was a trip down memory lane both in town and exploring the local area - it didn’t disappoint. The magic of Suffolk is still there - We will be back.

  • "Lovely location and convenient for sea front and shops."

Bungalow was beautifully maintained and very comfortable. We'll appointed with all necessary utensils and equipment. Only criticism is garden access. Steps very precarious and especially at night. Lights along steps bit they blind you trying to walk down in the dark. So much so that it became too dangerous to attempt to walk down in the dark. Maybe relocate the lights to make using the garden steps usable during the night. This is quite important if you have a dog with you.

  • "The accommodation and location was lovely."

The only criticism I would have would be the garden. Upon arriving the front garden looked decidedly scruffy which did not give a good impression. The cottage itself was perfect. The back garden definitely needed attention grass and shrubs very overgrown.

A nicely decorated 2 bed house situated in a quiet location close to the pier. Good on-street parking and very well equipped. We would definitely recommend.

  • "Fantastic house for two couple or a small family."

Great location, being a few minutes walk into the centre of town and really close to the pier. The house was clean and well furnished. The beds were comfortable with lovely white cotton sheets and the bathroom was clean & modern with a good shower. The back garden was also really nice to sit out on an evening or for breakfast. It had everything we needed for our stay - highly recommended.

  • "A wonderful 4 nights in very comfortable cottage."

Decorated very tastefully and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful garden to relax in, and location very close to beach and town. One thing I forgot to ask was could one of the bedrooms be a twin and not a double, should have requested that, but not too much of a problem. The welcome bottle of Prosecco was also appreciated. Thank you.

The cottage is also cosy enough to chill and rest between outdoors activities. The garden is lovely too. A great holiday rental.

We have been coming to Southwold for 13 years and this was one of our best stays. The cottage is deceptively spacious and very well thought-out. Booking was simple and team was very helpful when we contacted them with a query before our stay.
