  • "Lovely spacious property, ideal for our 3 generations to gather together."

Very comfortable beds, amazing showers and lots of comfy sofas and quiet nooks. Having such close proximity to the beach was perfect. Just a few niggles, sorry. Firstly it was difficult to find, ‘behind 3 pine trees’ isn’t too descriptive. The driveway entrance (from the main road, not the property driveway) has deep ruts, ok for the larger vehicle, not so good for the sports car. Kitchen has no spare storage for food. Rusty baking trays. Both Fridges had missing shelves and door shelf/bottle racks. Smaller frying pans needed. Dining table - it was difficult to navigate around the table legs with 8 chairs. Duvets in one bedroom were very thin. The ‘usual’ holiday property saga - no spare toilet rolls and those provided were only 1 ply (where do you even buy these?) That said, perhaps the owners aren’t aware and we like the property enough to book again.

  • "Beautiful house, wonderful position with easy access to the beach and village."

Perfect for our family celebration. The large space allowed us all to “do our own thing” yet be together. Very comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms accommodated our 3 generations superbly.

  • "This property offers excellent facilities for our extended family."

It provides so much space for socialising and allows room for different activities within the light and airy open plan room. Even when the weather is not so good it is a delightful space. The bedrooms are also spacious and the beds very comfortable. It suits us so well that we plan another booking, our fourth.

Delighted you enjoyed your stay and pleased to welcome you back next time. Property Owner

  • "Nice location with a lovely deck on the upper floor."

Spent hours out there reading our kindles and occasionally glancing at the sea. Our dog loved watching for occasional passers by. Lower floor bedrooms quiet and comfortable. Good access to the shingle beach and the walk to Aldeburgh. Access to and from the main road not too good. Case of look, hope and put your foot down. Could do with a mirror but I guess that is the Council's responsibility. All in all a relaxing week.

So glad you enjoyed your stay and hoping to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Difficult to add but could do with some food storage cupboards."

Out side could be tidier and mown, As the local water is not very palatable a water filter would be good.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. The garden is regularly maintained but visitors should expect what is effectively a garden on a sand dune. We have installed a further storage unit for pots, pans and dishes which has hopefully freed up some more storage space for food. Hoping you decide to pay us another visit! Not much we can do about the local water supply, sadly! Property Owner

  • "I have stayed at this place every May from 2015 until covid hit."

I’ve just been back May 2023 through Best of Suffolk. Very disappointed this time, it has changed owners. I have raised the following issues with Best of Suffolk. The voile curtains upstairs in lounge kitchen area are ripped, most of them. There was also a garden bench in the kitchen draped in a cloth, that still had bird poo on it, if you lifted the cloth up. They’ve moved the glass dining table (shown on photos) downstairs to the games room and put some old wooden dining table in. The back gate doesn’t lock in the garden. The frying pan is well past its sell by date. There was a round black metal table thing with legs that had a broken crossbar for stability. It wobbled awfully as you passed it. Now I for one do not live in a house with ripped curtains or have a garden bench covered in bird poo in the kitchen. This could be beautiful as the position is ideal. Thankfully they have not changed the bedrooms and bathrooms apart from out of place bathroom cabinets. Best of Suffolk’s response The property owner has asked us to pass on their thanks to you for your feedback and they are working to resolve the issues raised. So the cleaner moved the dining table and no one has noticed ripped curtains or dirty bench. We warned.

I'm sorry you were disappointed in your visit to Fisherman's Loft, especially as you have enjoyed the property before. We have done a number of things to update the property since buying it and in particular since your visit we have - changed the voile curtains which were in the property and which had become ripped to linen ones - repaired the metal table - provided a wipeable cover for the wooden dining table (which fits the space much better than the glass one, both of which were in the property when we bought it) - replaced the pans and a number of other kitchen items - the outside bench has been replaced back in the garden where it should have been originally - the back gate latch has been repaired I hope you will decide to try the house again as we have very many happy tenants, as you can see from other comments, as well as often being in the house ourselves. • "Just a couple of minor points, because we loved the property and have booked to go again."

As the property accommodates 8, we felt that a four slice toaster would be more appropriate. We took our own black bags as we knew that we would need plenty, but there were no white bags for the other rubbish. Otherwise, all good. Can't wait until the next visit!

Hi there. So glad you enjoyed your stay. In fact only the non-recyclable rubbish should go in black bags, the paper/tins and glass should be put loose into the bins. Also the current toaster was a temporary purchase by the cleaners to replace one that broke and we are going to put a larger 4-slice one back for the coming season. Hope to welcome you back soon!
