  • "Towels and Bedsheets were dirty and stained."

Although replaced, dirty marks were still visible on the bedsheets. We were told that they were "persistent stains" that wouldn't come out. I don't think that this is a reasonable response. Stains were brown marks on white towels, marks that looked like old mould stains on white sheets and dirty pillowcases. For this reason we wouldn't be comfortable going back or recommending to friends or family. A lot of money was spent to stay at this property for our family's short break so we were very disappointed.

We are very sorry you were dissatisfied with the linen provided and thank you for getting in touch with the house keeper so they could change the offending bedding and towels. The items had been fully laundered but the rust staining had not been spotted by the housekeeper at change over. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to Suffolk. Property Owner

We feel it would be useful to have some cleaning products as it's recommended that we ensure we clean before leaving. However it wouldn't stop us visiting again

Thank you so much for this lovely review. We are sorry there were not any cleaning products for you to use - please always feel free to contact us and we will replace during your stay. We will of course replenish the cleaning materials at the property. Property Owner

  • "It's the second time we have stayed at Field Edge and it is a lovely little property."

The only small issue I would raise is the TV is very small which I struggled to watch and would be more suitable for a bedroom. But this was only a minor thing and I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this property. Sara

  • "Bike shed not accessible."

To clean accommodation at end of stay with hoover provided was laughable. Driveway needs widening as to turn car without going onto grass was impossible. It should be stated that their is no outside path to village.

We hoped you enjoyed your stay at Field Edge Thank you for your comments - we have checked the bike shed keys and we have found them to work - there are two sheds in the garden and the bike shed is the one situated outside the back door. Field Edge is located in the rural village of Tunstall unfortunately many countryside villages in Suffolk do not have footpaths. We do hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place to stay but had issues with cleaniness."

Toilet wasn't cleaned from last guest, stains on sheets, pillowcases, mattress protector and a brown stain on one of the towels. Kettle needs descaling and had to use strainer to strain it. Cobwebs in kitchen and dead flies in places. Though the weather was good and had patio doors open we had an influx of tiny flies but I suppose that's down to the area and open fields.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you bringing to our attention the issues you had with the cleanliness, and can assure you that this has since been resolved. Best of Suffolk and our housekeepers details are both available in the property if you had wanted have anything resolved during your stay. Field Edge is located in the countryside with the beautiful Tunstall woodland close by, so occasional bugs are to be expected. As before, Best of Suffolk and our housekeeper would have been able to help during your stay if you needed them, but we have addressed your comments since your departure. We hope to welcome you back to Field Edge again soon! Property Owner

  • "Thanks for a great break in your lovely holiday home."

To arrive and open the door to such a bright, fresh, modern and really comfortable space was a very welcome relief after travelling through the effects of storm Babet and arriving hours later than planned due to all of the surrounding roads being flooded and closed (thank goodness for bumping into a 'local' 30 mins away who guided us through alternative routes to get us here - such a kind man). Despite the weather, we've enjoyed ourselves and visited plenty of great places, including Snape Maltings (fantastic for finding special little birthday and Christmas gifts, great selection of affordable plants and beautiful homeware. Gorgeous food at The Malt Cafe and delicious cakes and treats from the deli. Aldeburgh with its shingle beach is well worth a visit, as is Southwold with its pretty beach huts and very quirky pier. Sutton Hoo and The Suffolk Punch Trust - both so interesting. Thorpeness Meare and boating lake (great cafe here too - with so much choice), also home to the 'House in the Clouds' and Thorpeness windmill. Lovely accommodation. The only thing missing for us was bathroom blinds as we felt a bit exposed to the main road. P.S. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack and milk! We were desperate for that cup of tea :)

  • "Enjoyable stay and everywhere fitted out beautifully."

Lots to do and even on the days that we were all melting, Rendlesham Forest proved to be very cool. Southwold, Snape and Thorpeness, lovely walks, I think we did around 25 miles. Dog walkers paradise, the wildlife around the cottage interesting and the stars were infinite.

  • "Our 3rd visit here, very clean and tidy."

Visited Woodbridge, Southwold, Snape, Thorpeness and many more places. Suffolk punch trust not very disables friendly, need to spend more money on better access (ie paths). Thanks for wine and cookies.

  • "Wow! What a wonderful property."

So relaxing and very secure dog friendly garden. The facilities are of a very high standard. We felt spoilt by the comfy mattress and high quality bedding. The hostess pack was really welcome. Another really good thing was the location - it was central for so many attractions. We visited the Suffolk Punch Trust, Orford, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Sutton Hoo - to list a few. Nothing disappointed, It was a very relaxing place and well appointed. I wish I lived there!! We will be back. Thank you for the best time!

My only gripe is that the bedding smelt musty and the mattress protector and pillow protectors were badly stained . But I cannot fault anything else ,really nicely furnished and equipped Thank you

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry for any issues with the bedding, this is something we would of liked to rectify when the concern was raised and the housekeeper has been to ensure the standards expected are maintained with the bedding. Convenient for visiting lots of fabulous places. Its only downside and that is nothing the owners can do about it is the road noise and also the fact that there is no pavement to walk on safely. Would highly recommend the cottage but with the road caveat.

  • "On first appearances the cottage is as described, the welcome pack and toiletries is a nice touch."

The towels were nice and fluffy and the bed was comfortable (on the last day I discovered the mattress is badly stained). Sadly our stay at the cottage was tainted by the poor state of cleanliness. At the start of the holiday i tried to focus on the positive and enjoy our holiday. However more issues became apparent as the week went on and i reported my findings to Best of Suffolk part way through the holiday; stains on furniture, dirty skirting boards throughout, cobwebs everywhere and an accumulation of dead insects in the bedroom behind the furniture, dirty oven and dirt under the sofa cushions. To their credit their response was immediate and the house keeper attended who was full of apologies and offered to have it cleaned. At that stage we were coming to the end of our holiday and decided we did not want the disruption. We were offered a late check out by way of apology which was of no use to us as we had a long journey home.

You have to be careful of the main road as they drive to fast past the property and being it is bang on the main road you need to have your wits about you when driving from the entrance Will book this property again some time in the near future Wifi can be a bit of a hit and miss and if the weather is bad there freeview on the tv does not offer much in the way of channels and variety,I was lucky enough to have sky go on my laptop .All in All though a great place to be based and the Wine Biscuits and milk was a lovely touch

  • "What a lovely week we had in this conveniently situated property."

The electric heating system worked well on a timer system to keep the property at a nice temperature despite the very low temperatures outside; it was a shame we couldn’t take advantage of the outside seating in the rear garden. Inside the property was very spacious and well equipped, making it a very comfortable stay. The master bedroom was huge, as was the bed, probably the largest we have slept in! The property is close to the road and you can hear passing traffic, but, certainly at night there is hardly any traffic and wasn’t a problem. Will definitely stay again when coming back to the area.

  • "We were delighted to find that everything in this property was exactly as described."

It was immaculately clean and all of the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard. The only possible feed back we could give would be is that the heating was set very high, which of course we could turn down, and also the duvets were too warm for us. Otherwise everything was perfect. Thank you
