  • "Very happy with our stay at Caines Cottage."

The cottage was beautifully clean and the owners had thought of everything we would need to make our stay enjoyable. We cannot fault the cottage it was perfect in every way and in such a great spot in the centre of the village. Will be back I am sure and would definitely recommend.

  • "Caines Cottage was beautiful, clean and well presented."

It had very high spec appliances within and was home from home. Right in the centre of Westleton, opposite the local shop and tea room. Also having two pubs within 2 minutes walk. What a fab place. Ideal for for walking to the common, Minsmere and Dunwich. Thanks we will be back!

Many thanks for your positive comments, we do our best to deliver high quality holiday accommodation. Hope you can find some time to visit again. Property Owner

  • "We very much liked the location, Westleton is a great place for easy access to Minsmere and Dunwich, and only a few miles from Southwold."

The cottage itself was comfortable and was well equipped. The bedroom is small with virtually no room on the left side of the bed but there does not seem to be much that could be done about this due to the size of the room. All in all a very pleasant stay. Instructions about location and key collection were also very straightforward.

Many thanks for the positive feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time staying at Caines Cottage."

It was cosy and comfortable and was well appointed with everything you could need. Westleton village is a great base to explore the Suffolk coast from and has 2 great pubs and a handy village shop. I would definitely stay again.

  • "Cottage was very well set up, very clean."

We gave it a 4 star simply on location. Since our last visit to Westleton the amount of traffic has increased so it was quite noisy from traffic noise especially farm traffic. We usually rent remote cottages so it was useful to be in walking distance of pubs and a shop. We will not rent this cottage again but that it our choice - the cottage was one of the best we have rented. The car space was also useful but what a chore parking with the heavy traffic! You mentioned the faulty blind in the bedroom. Not really a problem as we used some string as a temporary support. I also mention that we could not unlock the front door with the key provided - it appears to be jammed solid. We had a great week with no rain! Thanks for letting us use the cottage.

  • "Lovely well equipped cottage in great location…."

Excellent beaches within easy reach eg - Dunwich, Southwold, Walberswick. The village has 2 pubs & village store within easy reach…..all very dog friendly! We feel the cottage could benefit from a water filter as build up of limescale & scum in kettle leaves unpleasant taste in tea/coffee even after cleaning

Thanks for the positive feedback. Property Owner

  • "What a great cottage for a Suffolk holiday."

Perfectly placed for visiting RSPB Minsmere and the coast. Very clean cottage with lovely decor and good to have the parking place with it. Thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Many thanks for the positive feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you can find some time to visit again in the future, there’s plenty to see and do on this part of the Suffolk coast. Kind regards Chris & Sarah Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable cottage and very good location within village and surrounding walks."

One minor point is the fact that there is no gate to neighbouring property in back garden to prevent dogs accessing neighbours outhouse. Our dogs were fine but it might pose a problem for holiday renters.

Thanks for the positive feedback. There is a temporary screen available to block the access but a permanent gate is on the list to be fitted this year. Regards Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in a lovely location."

The village has all you need and the food and service at the hotel is excellent. To late at the pub for food so can not comment. The cottage was brilliant but the single room is really for a child. Being older people we found the furniture very low for back and head support. It was a lovely stay and I will look forward to further visits. Our host had thought of everything, but you find your self being nosey to find out where things are

Westleton is an idyllic village near the Suffolk coast, nestled between Southwold and Aldeburg and offers all the attributes you could hope for in a Suffolk village, with a village green complete with pond and ducks. The village is easily accessible from the local train station at Darsham approximately two miles away. The village has a store, a bookshop where you can also enjoy a tea or coffee whilst browsing, an old fashioned garage, as well as two pubs, The White Horse Inn and The Westleton Crown, one of Suffolk’s best traditional inns where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate held their first wedding anniversary. Barrels are supplied and all are welcome to join in! The local Emmerdale Farm Shop and Butchery as well as a tea shop is approximately a mile away. The area is a haven for nature lovers with Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve, Dunwich Forest, Dunwich Beach with its famous fish and chip shop located on the beach, and the RSPB Minsmere, all close by.
