  • "A fantastic cottage in a very rural area, farms and countryside all around."

A really comfortable cottage with everything you want for a real get away from it holiday. The very friendly owners have produced this little oasis of quietness from the hubbub of the world. Highly recommended.

Thank you Nigel for your lovely comments, they are most appreciated. Sam and I are pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay at Swallow Cottage. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful setting."

Roads surrounding the accommodation are very tight lanes with lots of gravel and pot holes, so not suitable for some vehicles. No wi fi in the accommodation which for us was a good thing

  • "We loved Swallow Cottage!"

Beautiful well maintained cottage in a tranquil idyllic setting. We are a three generation family and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our week in Swallow Cottage and do not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing hub from which to visit the many and varied attractions in the area, from Ludlow to Knighton, from Church Stretton to Hereford, and beyond.

  • "The location was superb with walking out each day into magical Shropshire/ Powys countryside."

The bluebells were magnificent in woodland and alongside the paths and lanes. Kites were 10-a-penny and the birdsong was deafening. And we discovered a new word-quillet which were sited in view of Caer Caradoc!

The location was perfect, away from busy areas, surrounded by wildlife and we were able to get WiFi from the shepherds hut. We would definitely recommend to others.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. Even though the weather was a little on the wet side we still enjoyed our visit and would thoroughly recommend it.

  • "The landlord Sam was extremely helpful, laid back and friendly!"

The cottage had been converted from a barn to an extremely high standard and was fantastically furnished and equipped. The beds were very comfortable andcthete was plenty of hot water although because of the height above sea level water pressure on the showers was low but not a major problem. There was plenty of tourist information booklets and leaflets in the cottage and information about places to eat. The Baron at Bucknell had a great ambience and the food was good and not overly expensive. The surrounding area was beautiful but beware of kamikaze birds and even deer appearing suddenly from the hedges as you drive up or down the narrow road from Bucknell! We would recommend the cottage to anyone. It was superb - but no Wi-Fi access or mobile reception because of the surrounding hills - great to get away from it all!!

  • "Well equipped, cosy everything we needed even had the cottage decorated with a Christmas tree."

Very helpful owners if required. Away from it all, no wi fi no Mobile signal , gave us a peaceful time no interruptions. The owners did have a resource centre in the Freight Carriage painted decorated and heated. Good resources of maps brochures and a payphone available. Thank you so much, have just booked another Sykes cottage for this Autumn.
