  • "Excellent location, 5 minutes to beach and 10 minutes to town centre."

Paul the host was a great communicator and provided the cottage with everything. The store cupboard with spices and herbs was great as was the amount of kitchen equipment and lovely crockery too. I’ve stayed in quite a lot of cottages and Airbnb but this has been my favourite. Both my husband and daughter loved it too and we will definitely be going back.

Hello Sam, Thank you for your lovely feedback following your stay at Coorie Doon. It is so nice to receive positive feedback from guests, especially when we try our best to look after guests and "go the extra mile". You will, of course, be welcome back any time. Paul Property Owner

  • "An excellent holiday cottage - comfortable, well-equipped and well-maintained, in a quiet location."

The owner has thoughtfully provided clear instructions and information plus lots of interesting books and films. One thing that would have been helpful was an explanation of the unusual way properties are numbered in Society Street, with a clear diagram. It took us a while to find it, and the supermarket delivery man had the same problem.

Hello Sheila, Thank you for your lovely feedback. I am pleased that you had an enjoyable week at Coorie Doon. The house numbering system in Nairn for the several Society Streets is indeed quirky. The map which Sykes have on their site does locate the cottage exactly so it is worth looking at that and/or following the directions that I send out to get there rather than try to navigate by looking at the house numbers - to which there seems to be no rhyme or reason !! Sainsburys have struggled to find the cottage in the past but, having used them ourselves on many occasions, they ought to make notes so they know for next time. Hopefully, you will visit Coorie Doon again sometime. Paul Property Owner

Ideally situated to enjoy the stunningly beautiful Moray Firth coastline it was also positioned to enjoy the peaceful location of Fishertown. The welcome pack was just a small part of Paul’s consideration for his guests, not intrusive but ensuring the comfort of our stay. While we weren’t able to use the garden area because of the time of year, it appeared to us to be perfect for relaxing at any time. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday. Teresa March 2024

The cottage is well equipped and very homely. The log burner in the sitting room was a real plus as Nairn was pretty chilly in mid November! The location is fantastic and literally only two minutes walk to the beach. We had some great meals out at Ozzy's restaurant (recommend by the owners). We didn't have a car with us and found plenty to do and see, walking and taking public transport from the cottage. Very happy to recommend it. Polly and Lindsay

Hello Polly and Lindsay, Thank you for your lovely review and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Coorie Doon. It's great that, even without a car, you were able to get about in Nairn and the area. Would love you to return some time. Paul Property Owner

The cottage itself is well equipped and there were some biscuits , milk, tea, coffee and sugar waiting for us on our arrival and not forgetting a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The owner had left a brief history about the cottage which was great and interesting and it was lovely to see that some of its history had been kept but mixed with modern touches which didn’t spoil it. A great little find for anyone wanting to explore Nairn, Inverness and the surrounding area. Thank you for a wonderful stay . The owner

Thank you, Jane, for your lovely feedback. We've grown to like the beach walks most which are indeed breathtaking. Hello Angela, Thank you very much for your lovely review of Coorie Doon and Nairn area. There is quite a large group of wild water swimmers in the sea off Nairn although they are usually on the dayshift - a midnight swim sounds fantastic (although we are next up in October when it mightn't be so "warm"). Coorie Doon was warm, comfortable and the perfect place to come back to after a day out. It's in a great location, tucked away, but just a short walk to Nairn's town centre, numerous eating places and beautiful beaches. Every day began or ended with a walk along the promenade or along the sand with a pair of binoculars to appreciate the amazing birdlife and one one occasion, even seals and dolphins. We loved the cottage, the area, and hope to return soon.

You can see the Garden would be beautiful in spring/summer. Property bed upstaors was extremely comfortable, my husband generally doesn't sleep good but did so while staying at Coorie Doo. We loved the log fire and the roll top Bath - tip is to get logs from home bargains if open rather than petrol station as the latter were a bit too big and not as dry. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Hello Elizabeth, Thank you very much for your lovely review. Very glad we could accommodate you at very short notice and I hope you had a fantastic hogmanay and a bit of a rest. I endorse your comments about the logs from Home Bargains (logs from other retailers are available !!) which are better burners and seem to be much dryer. Also glad that your husband slept well at Coorie Doon - a lot of guests mention the very comfortable bed. Hope you may be able to visit again. Paul pe Property Owner

If you've a bit more time - Coorie Down is in a wonderful location barely 2 minutes walk from the beach, but also an easy short walk to Nairn's town centre. The owners have ensured guests will want for (almost) nothing, with a well appointed kitchen & a very comfortably furnished sitting room. The king sized bed was also hugely comfortable and the provided linen and towels felt luxurious. The wifi was also well up to the task, and for our arrival, the owners had left a small selection of welcome goodies to start us off. What stood out was the level of cleanliness throughout - the presentation of Coorie Down was, to our minds, exemplary. One minor issue surfaced during our stay, and owner Paul responded at once and ensured a replacement item was delivered the following day. Fantastic all round.

Myself, 2 kids and my parents spent a wonderful, relaxing week there in October. The cottage, while being spacious, felt very cosy and comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a big, freestanding bath and a very spacious shower. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. WiFi connectivity was excellent. The kids loved that we were only a 2 minute walk away from a lovely, sandy beach and enjoyed walking and playing there every day. Communication with the property owner was great and he provided lots of useful info. Nairn itself is a lovely town with a good collection of shops and we didn’t feel the need to wander much further afield. Nairn is an attractive and lively seaside town dating back to Victorian times. It has long been a popular holiday destination and is just 16 miles from the town of Inverness. Nairn is steeped in history and is closely linked with the Battle of Culloden, whilst nearby Fort George is Europe’s best preserved 18th century military fortification. Shakespeare’s famed Cawdor Castle and Brodie Caste are both within 15 mins drive. Golfing enthusiasts will be attracted to the two 18-hole championship courses, including the Nairn Golf Club, and the town also has an outdoor tennis court as well as a squash court for hire.
